Darrick Wood, SG

thanks for the update

...a few reflections after a long day in high energy Manhattan bus back to the quietude of Sag Harbor where I still glance out on the bay to see if the whaling boats have returned... :)

I have not been reading the posts regularly - but I for one am not disappointed but realistic as I bet others are as well. We are good, young and will take our lumps. The future is bright and most likely (and of course hopefully) the coach will regain his stamina.
Any kid you wants to either leave of not consider the Red Storm - just as well. We can't force anyone especially young people to do something not in their own heart.
As time goes, on I realize (what group had those lyrics? 1960-70s?) we will get our share of wins and of recruits.

A final note, even the blowput loss at UKy, if we were hitting our jump shots a little better the game would of course been closer. Our two best scorers almost blanked? And if we had that additional size (obvious) we would get a better read on how good the rest of the team is. IMagine a Bill Wennington type in the middle of God and Moe etc.

all the best

PS I'm actually more disappointed that soccer lost in the first round.

Chicago-As Time Goes By

He will be playing in Montreal in a tournament in 2 weeks and I look forward to watching him all weekend.

No I don't TIS. I was just hoping (perhaps  I am being overly optimistic ) that Amir will have been cleared to play for SJU by the 16th , being the date the Sun Youth Holiday Tournament starts.

The St. John's semester ends on December 16 or 17 (for Saturday classes). If Amir is qualified (which he appears to be), he should be able to start practicing immediately after that. I guess he might still have to wait for Clearinghouse approval. They seem to be moving rather quickly on other kids, such as Laquinton Ross at OSU, so I hope there is no delay with Amir.

That's an awful lot of ifs-if I had a million dollars I would be a millionaire.

Amir Garrett?

That is what I was wondering too, but I know Amir is not just a scorer and does everything well.

They both look good.

How does Malik Nichols look? At IS8 he looked quicker, better shooter and defender than Amir IMO. He played Slo Mo better also. Maybe it was just the two games Insaw but he is a promising player.
