Stanley had a couple big boards early but forcing their slower wing Karaban out on the perimeter to defend had them struggling all second half. Thought it was the right move to start the 4 guards in the second but Stanley has been a consistent performer in his role. Rarely hurts you. Can’t forget about him.

Stanley only played 6 minutes, his second lowest total of the year. Not sure why, injury, illness, or coaches decision. Hope Joel can continue to keep away from foul trouble the rest of the season and amazing that he got himself in shape to play 35 minutes a game.
Actually saw that he started so assumed he played a lot more minutes then normal. As I mentioned, I was only partially watching.

That was yesterday. Today when i strut around town in my SJU sweatshirt it will be different.
It was a George Costanza line from Seinfeld was gonna explain it in my original post and guess I should have since I didn’t even get a thank you from Mug (in case I need to explain that one too I am referring to poster Mug Costanza who I assume got his name from the TV character).

I would like to see Pinzon be involved in more plays and also
plays designed for him.
He is our closest thing to a pure shooter that could keep the defense honest.

Our offense always looks like he's the last one they look for and it's
ironic because he's our best shooter.

I like the move to start Stanley then adjust as needed. IMO it's always better to start off big then go small if needed rather than doing it the other way around. The first 4 minutes is always important in setting the tone and establishing the physicality. As you said Stanley is a safe option he's not going to do too much to hurt you and you know no matter how many minutes you give him he's going to be consistent.

The emergence of Pinzon and Storr has been a major factor for the improvement on offense. Pinzon has a skill set that the team has lacked to date-a player that can create off the dribble and hit the 3 or pull up for a mid range jump shot or floater. Storr makes mistakes, but then so do the 4 juniors we have. Except Storr is a better shooter and has a ton of upside. He has high major athleticism that he will showcase when his confidence level increases.

Seems like we were easy to prepare for prior to the starting lineup change. Not so much now. Defensive energy far better as well. The harassment of Hawkins in the second half was impressive. Not certain we have turned the corner, but at least there are signs of life.

Not a great free throw shooter. Not sure I’d call him a pure shooter. Definitely a capable shooter with a solid mid-range game who most importantly can score off the dribble. As others have posted, he adds a new dimension to our offense.

You have to stop with these false narratives. Last year it was Wheeler, now this year it's Pinzon and Storr. We have eyes man.... Pinzon can't play from the jump, if he's in street clothes from the jump. He started the first pre-season game and CMA was bragging on his improvement in press conferences, then he got hurt and he's just now getting to 100%.

And we all seen Storr have a good looking shot from the beginning, but his defense was horrible, everybody seen that. And he's still not the best in that department, but he's improved dramatically that's why his minutes have gone up, both him and Pinzon have gotten much better defensively. There's things you can criticize CMA on that's warranted, but developing his players during the season shouldn't be one of them.

Yeah Anderson coached them up good now they are showing that coaching
What he do then to Jones and Posh

takeaway from the XL Center game, Danny H heading through the tunnel and fans are giving it to him. He shouts back at them, "yeah tough guys, yeah, it takes a lot to yell at me from 50 feet away and layers of people between us, coward"!

And I thought our fan base was tough on a coach.

Hurley & UCONN fans deserve each other.. "class" without the first two letters.
