Did you want him taking those shots?
He is a role player should never take more shots than Soriano and would be my 5th option on offense.
I don’t love the shot distribution either but the tough part about this conversation is that I don’t think Soriano wants to be a high usage guy offensively. I don’t know if it’s his personality unfortunately. Maybe I’m wrong but I just don’t see it.

Three point shooting has not really been a strength this year. Jenkins seems to be able to get off a decent look off the dribble more than most if not all of our other players. I was hoping that Dingle would be that guy but so far he has not really displayed that skill very much.

My biggest issue tonight was that Joel only got five shots from the floor in 29 minutes of floor time. We needed to find ways to get him the ball. He is by far our best player. If he is doubled, he has shown the ability to find other people for baskets. Tonight he only had those five shots (making four) and he had zero assists. That tells me he did not get nearly enough touches.
Getting decent looks off dribble is only a positive if you have decent chance of actually making the shot. Jenkins hasn't mastered the second half of the equation.

he also, got 5 points in the beginning when no else could score, plus had other key baskets when UCONN was pulling away in second half. He played poorly in last few minutes, it happens. Doesn't mean it is a trend, yet.
Someone mentioned in a previous post that CRP has to much trust in Jenkins. I would argue that CRP has to much trust in Ledlum.

And as much as I hate to say it, that’s on the staff. They knew Clingan would not be available which made getting Soriano involved more imperative. I know, I know, questioning the staff is sacriligious.

Jack he is in the post.
I guess Rick doesn’t want him to be a high usage guy.
Here is the deal, Walter Berry shot more than 200 shots more than his point guard. His point guard shot 47% in his junior year and played forever in NBA.
Jenkins and Ledlum have taken more shots than a guy shooting 60%

Just curious, what do you see in Wilcher’s game to predict that he will be very good? Cause Pitino says he likes him? All I have seen so far is minimal offensive ability, poor decision making, not much penetration and the most alarming is that he gets beat by his man regularly. I’ve seen many frosh PGs around the country that seem much further along. Can he improve, of course. But can he improve enough to lead a championship caliber Big East program?
Because unlike you, I watch players play more than a few minutes before I form an opinion and I saw Wilcher play multiple times in HS. You rely on a ridiculously small sample size with a big step up in game speed and competition and form your opinion.

I dare anyone who has issue with CRP’s coaching in tonight’s game to name any other coach who brings in 12 new players and takes the #5 ranked team down to the wire with a chance to win one week into conference play. We are getting better with each game…. Keep the faith.

BTW, if this were CMA’s team, I would have expected to be blown out.

5 seconds is an eternity, and they had 11 seconds off the missed free throw.

He’s a PG who has been missing all night. He took a pass and didn’t think twice about shooting. He was never gonna pass. That’s chucking no matter if it goes in or not.
Why did the inbounder pass it to him? I'd take the 5 second violation, what;'s the difference? We knew he can't shoot for anything.

I'm watching the idiot dribble, I'm saying passsssss.
He wouldn't though, then I swear I said the entire play in my head.

He's act like he'll drive then do the step back 3 and he'll miss, and that's 100% what happened.
He's nothing more then a bench player.
