Jack he is in the post.
I guess Rick doesn’t want him to be a high usage guy.
Here is the deal, Walter Berry shot more than 200 shots more than his point guard. His point guard shot 47% in his junior year and played forever in NBA.
Jenkins and Ledlum have taken more shots than a guy shooting 60%
Soriano took 5 shots tonight. He didn’t only touch the ball 5 times.

Truthfully, I think both things can be true here. We need to feed him more, and work on cleaner entry passing. But he also needs to want to take more shots. No more dumping it down to Chris Ledlum under the hoop with the game on the line

I also would love to know what the % is on how often Soriano is doubled on his touches. Cause that’s another part of this that is going to impact how many shots he gets

The more I watch him, the more Ledlum reminds me of Marvin Clark
That’s not good . Marvin was a great 2–16 shooter in big games. And , in addition probably addrd 6-8 points to our opponent by fouling out in so many games .

Couple that with Simon who couldn’t throw the ball in the ocean and Ponds had to be PG, SG all while getting double teamed . It’s a wonder he almost single handedly got us to the pay in game.

Playing in to your last point is that Soriano usually holds the ball upon receipt, inviting the double, or maybe because he knows it’s coming. He is a really, really good player but not an especially aggressive one, certainly not in looking for his offense.

To me, if he was reigned in, he’d be a better player. I don’t know if it has anything to do with loyalty from committing to Iona and coming here but Pitino isn’t really (seemingly) stopping his out-of-control play.

He’s definitely not a bad player and I do think he is a BE player but life is a little too comfortable for him right now and the constant shooting and out of control drives have to be reigned in. Passing is secondary to our 1 guard. That shouldn’t be the case.
Well Pitino is really blunt about things, so I'll be really blunt as well.

When Luis is fully healthy and really to go full time then he should be the "point forward", I'm guess the Butler game (he should have to play vs. Hofstra for us to win). If Jenkins is still a starter then that's a shitty job by Pitino, point blank. Jenkins isn't a starter.

Only thing about Ledlum is he shouldn't be in the the last 5 minutes, he's a choker.

Because unlike you, I watch players play more than a few minutes before I form an opinion and I saw Wilcher play multiple times in HS. You rely on a ridiculously small sample size with a big step up in game speed and competition and form your opinion.

How do you know how much I watch players or follow the game. I saw Simeon in HS as well and yes he looked better but that was against inferior competition. Your assumption of what I’ve seen or what I rely on is completely inaccurate and makes you look silly.

Again do you see him improving enough to lead a Big East team with Big East championship aspirations?

straight baller, on a different level than anyone on this team
he missed 2 free throws in a row. Not saying I disagree but he shouldn't be missing 2 free throws in a row at this level. He looked like he was doing everyone a favor playing :)

It was his second game in 10 months.

Did you also not see those 2 mid court steals? The fact he was in a position to miss those 2 FTs no one else on this team can do

David Jones scored 28 today...and 26 his last game. Posh scored 21 tonight and is averaging five and a half assists per game....Storr, etc. Many of us thought Pitino screwed up jettisoning almost all our players and replacing them with lesser ones. Jenkins is no more than a MAAC player. He's a fifth year senior...what you're seeing is all you'll get. Ludlum is an Ivy leaguer at most as is Dingle.

Pitino's record speaks for itself...but he made some mistakes in the name of "culture".

I like the kid's game from the little I've seem of it, but he was not highly recruited coming out of high school, had a nice(not spectacular) season at a mid-major and has played a total of 2 games for us. Can we at least see what he can actually do at this level before anointing him the 2nd coming/savior of our season?

If posh scored 21 today butler would’ve won

Posh scored 6 on 2-8 shooting in a loss...

Jones has been balling out for Penny though

No, he didn't make some mistakes. He made some short term sacrifices for some long term benefits. While he's not perfect, he's a lot smarter then a lot of you guys want to give him credit for. And are we gonna get updates on our ex players when they have shit games too? I think we all know the answer to that question.

he definitely gets the best sneaker award ! 1k for those bad boys today. NIL !!!!

Damn! Tough one tonight. Very exciting game though. Had a shot for a great win on the road. Def a learning opportunity that will make us a better basketball team.

DJ played very poorly tonight. Shots were forced and that three at the end was really really bad shot selection. I wish college players would unlearn the step back 3, especially those who are not even good set shooters. Really poor game tonight and didn't really make an impact.

Ledlum leaves his heart out there. He had some very key rebounds and hustle plays and a few important buckets when we needed them. The missed open 3 and FT's hurt a lot, but I'm happy with him taking the 3 and the guys a 75% FT shooter. He's going to make important ones when we need them in the future. Tonight wasn't his night.

Soriano had a bit of a weird night. He was losing his man a lot on defense and that hurt us.

Refs sucked tonight IMO. Literally called Alleyne on a foul for just boxing out. Laughable.

Obvious the zone is still being worked out. It's not super tight yet, but it's still making an impact on the game. I'm very glad we've implemented that.

Let's please stop with the CMA and Pitino comparisons. It's just nutty. CMA picked up some big wins, no doubt....... but did you ever actually feel like they were EARNED wins? Not just wins because the basketball style was so off kilter, and without ANY rhythym, that other teams had hard times adjusting? If anybody needs to be reminded, go back and watch the Xavier game last year when CMA was mic'd up and then watch any Pitino huddle this year. He's playing DJ because he was the best PG we could get and Wilcher doesn't look at all ready for more PT. You gotta work with the players you have.

I wonder if we can get Luis and Taylor on the floor together.

Keep building guys!
