I am guessing you don't read this board much because all I have read since last year was about how inferior the talent was under CMA.CMA had a better talented team available. We have kids who have no business being in the BIG East on the team.

The players are going to the wrong spots ...... mostly because the opposing defense is forcing them to. The offense is a work in progress mostly because of the RJ Luis injuries and Dingle having a longer adjustment to the Big East than expected. He is putting the wrong players in the wrong spots. Don’t care how great a coach he is, Jenkins and Ledlum should not lead this team or really any team in shots.
I think the agreement was the players were talented, not the coach. I think most posters would have liked those players to play for a coach like Pitino (and I agree with certain ones) but that ship has sailed.I am guessing you don't read this board much because all I have read since last year was about how inferior the talent was under CMA.
I would not bury him either and his experience and reasonable skills can’t be replaced easily on a team w thin interior.Tough to see Ledlum brick those free throws, but I’m going easy on the guy tonight. That spill he took in the second half looked ROUGH. I’m surprised he even came back in. and looked hobbled when he did.
Also, no one wants to say it, but don’t love the pass from Joel to Ledlum on that possession late. Led to a foul yes, but Ledlum was in a very tough position, completely under the hoop. Would’ve preferred a kick out to a guard or Soriano could’ve just taken that quick hook shot he’s good at.
Still think Ledlum brings a lot to this team and I wouldn’t bury the guy tonight despite some tough mistakes

How in the world did “kids who have no business being in the BIG East” hang then? Yes, it is mega disappointing but unless you are referring to the whole team, who were the players who belong in the league that distinguished themselves tonight?CMA had a better talented team available. We have kids who have no business being in the BIG East on the team.
I read it sometimes. But the net effect is kind of zero b/c RP is a better coach and can win with less talent. This is not the year RP takes SJU to the holy land. Have to give him until year 3. The defense has improved immensely with a team that can't play defense.I am guessing you don't read this board much because all I have read since last year was about how inferior the talent was under CMA.
Jenkins thinks he is best player on team. He is not… but he knocks down the free throws there.I would not bury him either and his experience and reasonable skills can’t be replaced easily on a team w thin interior.
coaching kept us in the game tonight. Specifically changes on how D is played. How in the world did “kids who have no business being in the BIG East” hang then? Yes, it is mega disappointing but unless you are referring to the whole team, who were the players who belong in the league that distinguished themselves tonight?
NO ONE did tonight, the only positive for me tonight, and it is a HUGE one, is that good defense will keep you in the game against anyone. Hopefully the players see that also. The game was there, SJU just didn’t take it, but that’s tonight, on to the next game.
I’m curious how do you want Ledlum to be used? He’s a great rebounder and I don’t think I’d change much about he’s used defensively.I get people on here doing the “Rick” knows more than us thing. I also get that there are people on here who never played in a basketball game. What I can’t understand is how a great coach has watched 11 games and 11 game films coming in and still hasn’t adjusted Jenkins and Ledlum’s roles.
The 3 hardly falls for Jenkins. You can’t wait to “set up a 3” with 5 seconds left in the game. It was not a “chuck”, it was a decent shot that didn’t fall.
Two winnable home games coming up. Take care of business and let’s see where we are heading into that nova gameShould we have won tonight, maybe. But let’s keep things in perspective, this isn’t a “bad” loss at all. We’re 8-4, 1-1…still with our destiny firmly in our hands.
Back up QB syndrome, Wilcher is going to be a very good player IMO, he is not now.
Did you want him taking those shots?I’m curious how do you want Ledlum to be used? He’s a great rebounder and I don’t think I’d change much about he’s used defensively.
Offensively? He needs to dribble less but I also feel like he’s simplified his game and has stopped trying to do too much on offense.
He took 19 shots in our loss to BC. Since then? 6, 11, and 8. That’s much more like it
Three point shooting has not really been a strength this year. Jenkins seems to be able to get off a decent look off the dribble more than most if not all of our other players. I was hoping that Dingle would be that guy but so far he has not really displayed that skill very much.Putting that three aside, I just believe Jenkins takes far too many shots in face of a rather poor shooting % and seems less interested in ball movement and orchestrating. Guess Rick is ok with it, so no sense me beating a dead horse. On to the next one!
