I’m pissed they lost but very happy with the effort especially the defense. A 4 point loss on the road to the #5 team in the country is not embarrassing. Ledlum missing both free throws was a killer and Jenkins had no business taking that three but there were a lot of positives tonight. Luis is going to become a key piece for us you can see the talent and the defense has gone from non existent to impressive. I think we will be fine going forward and will get better.

Say what you want and there’s enough blame to go around but we lost by 4 points and how many times did Soriano lose track of Samson Johnson on D for easy slam dunks by Johnson? Thats 8 points right there. The team as whole just didn’t play well enough to win.

I truly believe this team will only improve from here. When Luis finally settles in we will be much better also. Based on how we hung in there on road at UConn tonight, I still think this team wins 20 games and finishes 12-8 in conference. I bet we get at least one win in the BET also.

Kick him off the team? Probably the most ridiculous thing ever said on this board. I hope you were kidding.
Then he needs to be physically confronted by the other players or the staff has to have an intervention.

Why does Glen Taylor have to only take good shots when Jenkins literally shoots at will? On what planet is a Jenkins 3 a good shot? He’s literally the worst shooter on the floor.

Luis needs to be a difference maker and looks like he definitely has that capability. That said, this one is not an “oh well” type loss to me because it was super winnable and the meaty part of the bell curve for this team is right on the bubble where this win would have been huge
No doubt, tough one to swallow w critical
lost opportunities

What also lost this game was the horrific D on the pick and roll and poor adjustments in the zone due to our guards lack of defense against penetration. We made Samson Johnson look like an all star

The bigger problem with the Jenkins situation is that Pitino clearly trusts him more than anybody else.

Pitino hasn’t reined him in at all and even makes sure Jenkins is critically involved in the plays coming out of timeouts. One of the ATOs was for a patented Jenkins elbow jumper that he missed then the lob to Soriano that was stolen
At this point becoming a Geno/Norm situation
Baffling

It didn’t sound winnable to you based on your need of miracle posts the last 10 minutes of this game even though we were in it to the end.

We had every chance to win this game. UCONN did not play well. Dingle, Taylor, Luis and Zuby need to get more minutes, Jenkins and Ludlum far less. I’m done, disappointing loss for sure

Let's realize reality.

We have the best coach. We have mid major players. The best coach can not win in major league with mid major players.

Again, Ledlum, Dingle and Jenkins can not compete with Major league.

No moral victories. Double digit dog at the defending champs house coming off a loss.
Despite bad shooting percentage from the floor, it was crucial free throw misses throughout the second half and inability to grab defensive rebounds that cost us this game. The little things go along way.
Dingle hitting a big time 3 is encouraging. Taylor 3 that followed was huge, but we gave UConn 3 chances on their next possession and they tied it. Demoralizing. But we must learn from this and move on. Tons to work on but with Pitino there is no doubt he will right the ship.

Not a moral victory guy usually but I thought we played a really good and competitive game. Calls were wonky both ways (even though I’m still pretty sure that white haired ref is gonna be at the Hurley Christmas dinner)

Unfortunately it’s a make or miss game and we missed some crucial ones.

but I’m excited for the rest of this season. Especially with Luis in the fold. That wasn’t the case after BC game.
Can Luis bring the ball up? Rather have Jenkins off the bench, him and Ledlum are becoming my least favorite on the team.

Don’t forget he missed 2 free throws earlier in the game. And 2 open 3 point shots.
You'd have to break down every missed free throw and open shot for both teams, if you're going there. UCONN had their misses too. So did other guys on our team.

And he wound up missing only one free throw early. Lane violation on the second, and he made the makeup shot.

Man this one hurts. Kids played their asses off

Gonna go the opposite tonight and say how impressed I am w Pitino and the team for showing balls after the BC game and buying in. This season will be rocky but it won’t be from lack of effort.

Nothing more frustrating than a foul shot parade

Taylor hit a big 3 down the stretch and then was pulled. I did not understand that. Should have been taylor and Luis as the forwards down the stretch and not ledlum. Hes brutal.

Anyone. We went toe to toe w/ the national champs on the road. Under CMA, we lose this one by 25 points. The future is bright.
Taylor had 4 fouls.
