Taylor hit a big 3 down the stretch and then was pulled. I did not understand that. Should have been taylor and Luis as the forwards down the stretch and not ledlum. Hes brutal.

Anyone. We went toe to toe w/ the national champs on the road. Under CMA, we lose this one by 25 points. The future is bright.

Definitely a game we should have won but too many pays to overcome and we didn’t. From the offensive rebounds we gave up to the missed foul shots toward the end to the questionable person who took the 3 (and I’m not a Jenkins hater). Couple other guys should be taking that before he does.

And I lost $$ on it. Ugh.
You must have picked SJU to win. Couldn’t imagine a SJU fan picking Pukon to cover the spread.

We came up short, but a lot of positives to take away from this one. We played one of the best teams in the country to the wire at their place. The D was terrific. If Luis stays healthy he will add a new dimension. We missed a number of makeable outside shots. Soriano was in foul trouble much of the half and didn’t have a big game. And yet, if Ledlum didnt miss two critical free throws we may have won. I don’t believe in moral victories, but there is no doubt in my mind that if we continue to bring it like we did tonight we will dance this year.

The bigger problem with the Jenkins situation is that Pitino clearly trusts him more than anybody else.

Pitino hasn’t reined him in at all and even makes sure Jenkins is critically involved in the plays coming out of timeouts. One of the ATOs was for a patented Jenkins elbow jumper that he missed then the lob to Soriano that was stolen

I thought the play that killed us was coming out of the timeout, rick called a great play for an alleyoop to joel who was wide open and the pass was deflected. You have to get that one.

Mike Anderson beat UConn twice on the road in his four year tenure at St. Johns. We blew 'em out last year at UConn.

Luis did in his limited minutes
I am not about to knock a kid who hasn’t played but he missed 3 layup attempts and two free throws; that is hardly stepping up. He certainly looks like a player and again, I am not in any way knocking him, but he did not “step up”.

Luis addition is as good as advertised and this team will be fine in long run. Good effort w lost chances, it happens
Luis needs to be a difference maker and looks like he definitely has that capability. That said, this one is not an “oh well” type loss to me because it was super winnable and the meaty part of the bell curve for this team is right on the bubble where this win would have been huge

Those plays he made on defense single-handedly got us back in the game.

Those 3rd and 4th fouls called on Soriano were a joke. Just have to add that. If Soriano plays most of the 2nd half instead of having to sit, I bet we would have won. I mean, they got Alleyne on a foul just boxing out. lol

I feel like I did that Christmas when I opened my present and it was a matching corduroy pants and jacket. So much excitement; so much disappointment.
