Coaching Changes

Jeff Goodman‏ @GoodmanESPN

Missouri has offered job to Cal coach Cuonzo Martin, sources told ESPN. Martin mulling decisIon

Quinnipiac willing to pay in the 800K range, sources told ESPN. Names mentioned they are looking at: Bonnies Mark Schmidt, RMU Andy Toole, Albany's Will Brown.

Jeff Goodman,

Crappy Bagels giving them deep pockets?

800K sounds crazy for a MAAC coach. I know the Binghamton coach left Rider which is in the MAAC for around 250K and extras. He was making under 200K at Rider around 5 years ago. Why would they need to pay Will Brown 800K to leave Albany. He can't be making much more than 300K.

Brown just signed a new five year contract this past September for $350K per.year.

This guy leaves every school after 3 seasons.

Rob Dauster‏ @RobDauster

Per a source, Cuonzo's deal is 5 years. Additional years (up to 7 years) added for each 20 win season. $3.5M per year.

I really thought Cal was going to be a monster but just sort of fizzled. No doubt the guy can recruit.

Goodman;
Washington has parted ways with Lorenzo Romar, sources told ESPN.

Watch Cuonzo Martin make a run for HS stud Michael Porter, a Missouri kid, now living in Washington, His dad is an AC at Washington & formally was an AC for MIzzo's women's program.

By hiring his father? ;)

Does that mean we can poach Charlie Moore, Lovett's HS backcourt running partner?? I know he would have to sit out a year but it would alleviate the sting if Marcus leaves.

One would think that's possible. There is younger brother who is also reputed to be an elite kid. We'll see. Kids played in same AAU program as Marvin Clark btw, MoKan.

Paul Biancardi‏ @PaulBiancardi

Cuonzo Martin will add Michael Porter Sr as an assistant, per sources. Michael Porter Jr did not sign an NLI.

Michael Porter Jr always a package deal with his father. Udubb hired him for that reason.

Start the rumors now, Lavin to Cal.

The proverbial "Face made for radio"

You are actually being kind. And he also doesn't even speak properly!
He can't speak properly because of that face.

I heard from a very very good source that a couple of schools have put out initial feelers to Lavin to gauge his potential interest. Have no idea what schools but I know he has been contacted

Crean fired at Indiana

AC Chuckle Martin unemployed as well.

If Indiana fails to land Archie Miller, Gregg Marshall or another sure thing, home run hire, the school Pres needs to be fired.
Should be a no brainer.

Yes, because University president's primary KPI is the basketball coach hire. LOL

STJ did Lav a huge favor by firing him following a winning, tourney season. A couple of years later, on the heels of two horrid losing
seasons and his coaching career is definitely over.
