Crean fired at Indiana

AC Chuckle Martin unemployed as well.

I wonder if Thomas Bryant will now decide to declare for the draft?

Michael Porter Jr always a package deal with his father. Udubb hired him for that reason.

Start the rumors now, Lavin to Cal.
I heard from a very very good source that a couple of schools have put out initial feelers to Lavin to gauge his potential interest. Have no idea what schools but I know he has been contacted

STJ did Lav a huge favor by firing him following a winning, tourney season. A couple of years later, on the heels of two horrid losing
seasons and his coaching career is definitely over.
Going to be very interesting to see what happens. I was surprised to hear what he is making now doing tv. It's a pretty good number

He is really good at TV, Could have a strong career doing it.
Work his way to top at FOX or CBS with Raftery up there in age.

NC State will meet today with UNC-Wilmington's Kevin Keatts, per multiple sources. Has emerged as a primary candidate to fill vacancy.

Current @patrickschool and former Rutgers coach Mike Rice is in the mix at Duquesne, sources confirm. Could win a Jersey TOC in coming days

Who knows how Lavin would have done these past two years. This year we would likely have had Lovett, Doughty, and Sampson in the back court. The front court couldn't have been much worse than what we previously suffered through this year.

No question that, for whatever reason, recruiting tailed off Lavin's last few years. But, for all the criticisms of Lavin, his bonafides as a very good recruiter cannot be disputed.

Agree, good recruiter...when he felt like it.

Slick talker........lazy recruiter.

Recruiting is more than shoveling manure. You have to get yourself into high school gyms (not just in Milan) and juggle several targets at each position of need.

I don't know whether it was his health, his attitude or some other factor, but clearly recruiting dropped off the last couple of years. I'm not defending Lavin, but I'm not convinced that the last two seasons would have been atrocious. In any event, Lav is gone and Mullin is our coach. The rest is pure speculation.

Tough job

He's from Pittsburgh, so I think he takes it if offered. Sucks that we couldn't get him in here as an assistant.

Surprised Underwood left; $$ I guess
Per Goodman
Illinois has hired Oklahoma State’s Brad Underwood, sources told ESPN.

Sima will have a new coach.

He only made $1 million at Oklahoma State
New contract at Illinois is 6 years $18 million
I would say it was largely due to the money
He was previously an assistant at Western Illinois
So he has some familiarity with the midwest area as well
