Coaching Changes

The Riceball er Riceman cometh? :)

Just hopeful we add some experience.

Paultz

Exactly where are we in this conversation about hiring an experienced coach.

1. Are they conducting a behind the scenes search for an assistant coach but can't find one - or
2. Is that even being discussed ?

Successful coach gets bigger job, with more money. Butler AD interviews four candidates, all with Butler backgrounds. Hires one within a week, and gets two million buyout money from Ohio State..
This is the way a competent AD operates, and I'll wager none of the assistants will be given guaranteed five-year, two million dollar contracts.

I agree with you. However, we are in the process of climbing out of a dark place. The Slice contract was undeniably poor and we should probably have an experience college coach on the bench and another recruiter on the road. That said, to me, the overall direction is positive.

Agree & perhaps SJU adds an experienced college coach after July open recruiting period w/o a guaranteed contract beyond year one.
Then where is the foreshadowing avi? ;) :)

Paultzman is really going out on a limb here!!!!
He is predicting the resurrection of Al LoBalbo.  :p

Or another guy from NJ who values defense. :)
Who happens to excel at dodgeball with great aim :)

Ellison lucky he transferred. Ahmed better wear a helmet.

If someone hits Bashir in the head with a dodgeball I don't think it ends well for them...........

I know Fordham on JJ said a while back that he thought it looked good and would happen after (?) summer live period. Not sure his sources, but he's always seemed pretty connected.

So I'd say if he and Paultz are hinting at it, there have been legit discussions.

Bill Parcells?!

Parcels?
Football?
Come now let's get back into hoops!
Why it's Bobby Knight!!
Defense!
When I was a cadet he was of course Army's head coach - we led the nation in defense - AND Bill Parcells was an assistant football coach!
Those were still winning times for the Brave Old Army team :silly:

Sense a discussion took place, but nothing formal. We'll see after Rice finishes his AAU season what happens. If not Rice, perhaps they add someone else. If not, Mullin knows best.
