Coaching Changes

There's a guy at a small school in New Rochelle who produces wins year after year. If Cooley made the jump and the guy from Siena made the jump why can't the guy who produced more than they did make it?

And as far as the Georgetown job goes, he going to remain in that small school in New Rochelle. Not a snowball's chance in hell.

Agreed and don't want to see it happen. As a SJU fan I'm pulling for Amaker.

Thought I saw a picture on TV of Mullin in the stands at the Women's South Carolina game. Could this be true?

Antonio Davis's daughter Kaela plays for South Carolina. Mullin was there to support them both.

Mccaffery had more success at Siena then clues has he so far. NCAA wins.

Cluess has more appearances and has a win despite the lousy seeding. He's sustained a winning program over time. And he almost won the CIT. Georgetown should be so lucky

In five years mccaffery went to tourny 3 times. Went to round of 32 twice with huge wins over big time opponents (beat vandy as a 13 seed by close to 20 points), and took #1 seed Louisville down to the wire.. What ncaa win did iona get?

@HoopsWeiss:

"Hearing a lot of buzz about Tom Amaker and the Georgetown job. Harvard coach has a lot going for him".

Amaker going to Gtown is a win for us.

His Wikipedia page currently lists him as the head coach of Georgetown.

Damn wiki leaks!

I was reading one of the Hoya blogs and they were discussing Cooley. Complete arrogance. Fans were all for it and a couple mentioned that he would not leave Providence, but not one of them even considered that it was a total douche move.

They need fresh blood there. They should have some guts and pick a top mid-major coach. I assume Winthrop's coach can't sniff another job now after what he just did, but surely there are others out there.

Ah, Wintrhop's coach pulled a Bobby Cremmins.

They beat Holy Cross in 1980. He watched on TV. Does that count?

District Baller‏ @DistrictBaller

Can confirm Rasheen Davis is not following Will Wade to LSU.

Or you could say he pulled a Dana Altman. He'll eventually move on to another job, but he can't go now.

Do you think the the guy from Rice will keep him, or is Rasheen looking for a new gig?

And how is he with big men?

I hope Rasheen at least got a raise out of the discussion.

Baton Rogue is a tough sell.

And yet they still manage to reel in some awesome basketball players.

Haven't looked at their roster lately, but Louisiana traditionally has some pretty good ballplayers. Plus LSU generally does a pretty good job in Texas, which is also fertile ground. Not sure how large their recruiting footprint really is, but between those two states you can field a decent team.

Maybe from a NY or northeast mindset but there is a big country out there. Not everywhere can be Jamaica, Queens.

New AC Wade hired has Texas contacts apparently. Hear as of last week Rasheen was not certain of his next move. He'll land on his feet I assume.

Just read about the guy. Was highly regarded as an assistant before flopping as a head man, so staff looks good so far.

I think Wade is the real deal with regard to X's and O's and recruiting, so if he can't get it done down there, I'm not sure where they turn next.

Always liked Rasheen, so hopefully he gets a good gig. I'm not sure how many decent NE openings there are though if he wants to be up there.

10 years ago I would have mocked the idea, but maybe he should try his hand at a stacked high school team for a year and see if nice offers roll in. If Rice gets a gig this year I'd actually apply to the Patrick School as his replacement if I were looking for a bit of a jump-start to a career and unsure of my next move.
