I imagine that he will be able to find an assistant coach gig pretty quickly. Deep Jersey connections that I assume haven't totally dried up.

Not a shock. I think he's being truthful about wanting to turn Iona into Gonzaga east . . . but I also think he has his eye on a certain job that isn't open.

Yes most certainly.  Very highly thought of coach.

I had no idea who Joe Dooley is but is East Carolina the DePaul of the Southeast?  They re-hired a guy who was a bad HC the first time around only to fire him again?

Apparently promoted at 29 the first time around, and fired despite being the only ECU coach to ever have a winning record. He was good for five seasons at FGCU.

ECU has been a terrible job for most of my lifetime. I was about to say that I remember Tony Dunkin being good, but then when I googled him it turns out he was from Coastal Carolina.

Whether the SJU job is open is completely up to Anderson at this point. I'd be happy to see him stay, but believe that he's more likely to leave after this season. We'll see.

Pitino lobbied hard and publicly for the SJU job when Mullin was fired. He's now rebuffed Maryland and Georgia. Either he knows something about an opening coming up here, or he's got his eye on another power conference program. I just can't see a hall of fame coach finishing out his days at Iona.

As expected Ewing had to make staff changes;

Staff changes at Georgetown in the wake of the school giving Patrick Ewing a vote of confidence, per sources:

Two assistants -- Robert Kirby and Akbar Waheed -- are out.

The Hoyas finished 6-25, losing 21 straight to end the season.

I heard Orr was out too. Was going for full turnover.

This is a Hail Mary. Because he basically has 1 year to make a quantum leap or....

There is a 75 year Old Coach in Durham, NC that will soon be out of a Job .  Hey , you have to have a Dream sometime .  Would Repole offer him Ownership in his next 2 year old Colt ?    Mets Season Box ? Season Tickets for Army Football ?  Jobs for his Daughters and Free Scholarships for all his Grandchildren ?  5 Years at $ 5 million a Year ?  Ranger Tickets / Box ?  I was going to say Giants or Jets Season Box but , that would probably kill the deal .  Hey , after 22 years of misery , fantasy is our only relief . Let’s get Cragg  on that right away .

Kimani Young (UConn), Shaheen Holloway (St. Peter's) and Bashir Mason (Wagner) are all in the mix at UMass, per sources.

One source called Young "the leader in the clubhouse”

What’s the over/under on how long until posters say SJU should make Wade a strong ass offer?

Here is what it looks like LSU was doing with Wade last 2 years when the potential allegations surfaced. Basically waiting if/when NCAA put forward formal allegations they knew contractually they can fire him and not pay him a dime of his buyout.

Yeah I saw that when the formal charges came out.  They wanted to make sure they wouldn’t have to pay him a dime.

It’s a disgrace that he was allowed to continue coaching while people he conspired with sat in prison. LSU should get hammered for this

Per Pete Thamel

More allegations tied to Will Wade. "Violated the principles of ethical conduct and provided impermissible cash payments to the former fiancée of a student-athlete in order to buy her silence regarding prior and current impermissible inducements to student-athletes..."

There are eight total Level 1 violation allegations against LSU, seven of which are tied to basketball. Here's Allegation 11, which will loom large over this case: "The institution failed to exercise institutional control and monitor ...its football and men’s basketball programs"
