I voted for Hurley, but surprised to see so much support for Pitino. Unless Slick Rick is voting with a bunch of alt accounts, it seems he may have a good amount of support.[/quote]
Would I take Hurley? Yes, I would! Though, he wouldn't be my first choice. I do like how he built Buffalo, and he's actually done some good things at Arizona State. But his Arizona State team fizzled badly down the stretch last season and was up-and-down throughout most of this season. Not to mention, I wasn't too impressed with 'em against us in the play-in game. Hurley also occasionally acts as if he needs a sedative. Granted, that wouldn't much be a big deal as long as we're winning. If we're losing, then I think his sideline antics would eventually wear thin.
I never thought much about Pitino since his Louisville fiasco. I don't much care about his private life. That's his life, so what he does is on him. At this juncture, if he want a reprieve then I'd give it to him. Sports doesn't nearly control me like it did when I was younger, but I still get enjoyment and satisfaction whenever the team's I root for wins games and does well. It can be a necessary distraction.
I'm getting older, and I'm tired of watching and wasting time on poor-to-mediocre ball. So, the hell with Slick Rick's past, and give him another opportunity. Because some other program will, and I wouldn't doubt that particular program will be formidable within a couple seasons. Bruce Pearl (as tom bradley mentioned on several occasions, LOL), Kelvin Sampson, Roy Williams ('Ole Roy probably knew about his players and the academic scandal), Calipari, Boeheim, Jim Larranaga, etc. All of these coaches have been accused or caught on some form of improprieties, but they still have jobs.
F it! I'm ready to win ball games, have relevancy, and watch March Madness in hopes of having deep runs into the NCAA's. If it's a possibility, then make it happen.
