Chris McCullough, PF (Syracuse Commit)

Per NBE Basketball....

Chris McCullough, the 6-foot-9, Class of 2014 four man is hearing from “Syracuse, St. John’s, Florida, Arizona, Kentucky, UConn, Temple, Hofstra and Kansas. These schools see a rebounding, long player that loves to attack the tin.

Developmentally, McCullough knows he needs to work on his perimeter shooting, while also getting stronger and heavier (from 215 pounds to 225). He wants to be a forward in college.

As a league Mcullough “likes” the BIG EAST, and desires “a good relationship with coaches” and “transition offense”. His decision will be made during the upcoming school year.

Big East, good relationship with coaches and fast transition = St.John's. That's all she wrote!

You knew it was going to happen MJ. I still don't think it makes him an automatic UK guy. Lots of good players will choose other schools. Let's also hope UK continues to grab other kids... ;-)

I also had a feeling it might happen, as I saw Antigua (Cal watched about a half or so of the game) watching Team Scan's game on yesterday. In no way, do I think it makes McCullough an automatic UK lean, but I don't care to see their name pop up.

I still think we could win this battle due to McCullough being a native of NY. If he was anywhere outside of the metro NYC area, then I'd really have my doubts when it came to battling UK for a recruit. In this case, we have a fighting chance. As, you also stated, let's hope Kentucky continues to land other kids. That also could give us an added advantage. LOL

UK is listed with I think the top 5 kids in 13 and the top player in 14 who might reclassify to 13. They are in line to land the best class ever. Let's hope the twins go to umd and pa rker decides to to head to duke or msu.

Per Zags.... A small blurb on McCullough.

The ‘Cats also reached out to another 2014 star in Chris McCullough, a Bronx native from the Salisbury (Conn.) School.

“Coach Antigua reached out and they are now showing interest in Chris,” his AAU coach, Terrance “Munch” Williams, told SNY.tv Sunday night.

Though he managed just 4 points in Team Scan’s 16U semifinal loss to the Southern Stampede, the 6-10 McCullough was one of the most talented players there this weekend.

“He will be in college for one year,” one Division I coach told SNY.tv. “Just look at his skills.”

Syracuse, St. John’s, Rutgers, Florida, UConn and Kansas had headed McCullough’s list prior to Peach Jam, but now here comes Kentucky.

And, after all, that’s no surprise, is it?

Chris tweeted earlier today "We bringing New York back!" That could mean nothing but hey he seems loyal to his city I don't see him going out to Lexington.

Now that the NCAA has finished with Penn State football, it is a good time to look into Kentucky basketball!

Fordham will be tough to beat

At this point I dont think cal needs to cheat anymore. He has an easy sell. Come here win a title and be a lottery pick.

I don't think Lavin is selling anything much different. We're just at a different stage. Lavs just gettin things started here. He is building with future pros. Lavin also has a great track record of doing that same thing at ucla. Once we get rolling and winning, there will be no limit to where we can go with this. Lavin has recruited phenomenally with a lot of chips stacked against him.

Now we have him healthy, a full team and have send several players to the NBA like Harkless and DJ and now an assistant coach is an NBA HC. Things are just getting started here. If we start winning and making waves, Lavin will really have some momentum. Glad to see Hardy, Harkless working on McCullough as well. I think this program is at countdown and is just starting to take off. This season it starts to get fun.

Don't think Cal needs to cheat anymore? LOL!
Kentucky has probably been paying players "under the table" long before Cal.
As for "come here win a title" Cal has only won one....this year. There are many Cal records with a ( ) next to them.
Kentucky has won 3 in the last 35 years. Uconn can make a better claim to players.

I hate Calhoun and Uconn. He certainly has done the most with the least in terms of talent though. He has landed plenty of good players, but nothing like UK has. He has gotten more out of his teams than any coach in America.

True that! .....and he has won 3 NCAA championships in 12 years. Unfortunately he did not get the most out of his players in the classroom, except for Okafor.
