We NEED this kid. Another pro. Santana's wish list for next season or two is just Chris McCullough and Jermaine Lawrence. Anybody have any idea how good we'd be with Lawrence at SF and McCullough at PF??? Lavin could win a title...

I'm guessing you meant Santa. For a brief second, I was wondering who was "Santana." LOL Phone typos, huh?

I've heard he was good, but I was a bit surprised to see clips of him nailing treys. I think we would be damn good with Lawrence and McCullough, to along with a few of the holdovers who'll probably still be with the team. Imagine Lavin and staff being able to practically put all or most of their focus on those two kids. They'll be tough to beat.

Damn! I want both of those kids.

How good is Lawrence guys? He's always been mentioned as a target, but it seems he really took off this past year.
Can he be an impact player like Moe, or what we hope Jakarr is?

How does he compare to those two

He is in the same breath IMO. He didn't play last summer really and playing now his stock is starting to soar.  With 13 being a thin class all signs are pointing to him being our only focus in 13

Lol yea, typo...

McCullough and Lawrence should both be more highly ranked than Moe outif HS. Both top 15 players IMO. Lavin is all over these kids. We should have a nice base on board while recruiting these guys so winning should be something they expect. Love to land them both,

I feel great about our chances to land Chris. He's friends with JB and he's real close with Dwight. All coach has to do is take him to MSG and have the Dwight Hardy layup against Pitt played over the big screen, and tell him there is nothing like winning in MSG and in New York.

The higher Moe goes, the easier getting kids like Lawrence and McCullough will be. Heck, Jakarr might be a first rounder by then as well.

Let's remember, our staff is all about recruiting the best talent, even if one-and done. Make no mistake. One staff member when they first started was quoted as saying something to the effect of: "we aren't recruiting college players, we're recruiting future pro's". What ultimately will bring that talent to us is two things. One is obviously sending talent to the NBA. The other is Lavin's personality, and that is the one factor that much of our competition doesn't have. Lavin builds real relationships with these kids that last long past their playing days. That is something that can be said for only a tiny group of coaches out there. Lavin still tweets about all his former players, friends and now colleagues anyhow they are doing. It's a rare trait and why I hope Lavin is here for a looong time to build his legacy.

Per NBE Basketball....

Chris McCullough burst onto the national recruiting radar last summer with a series of strong performances during the month of July, first at the Hoop Group Elite Session 1 Camp and the Hoop Group team camp playing with the Salisbury (CT) School. McCullough built up a strong following and next thing you knew college coaches were making sure they knew where his team SCAN AAU squad would be playing throughout the open evaluation periods of July last year.

Per CBS Sports (Jeff Borzello)....

While McCullough has no official favorite, he did say that Syracuse, St. John's, Arizona and Kansas are coming at him the hardest.

“I have a good relationship with the coaches,” he said.

I get the feeling we are still the favorite here. McCullough reportedly love our staff and NYC. He can get it done here with just as much exposure as anywhere else. Gut feeling tells me we will land this kid. We were on him before any of these guys and I think we'll be there at the end.

Per NBE Basketball....

Chris McCullough (Team Scan 2014) – Arguably the top prospect participating in this weekend’s event, McCullough glides around the court at a different speed than everyone else. While he doesn’t always dominate (and didn’t particularly do so on Saturday) it is very obvious that he’s operating on a different level than most everyone else. His finishes above the rim were among the tournaments best and seemed to be rather easy for him to complete. Higher intensity and a focus to dominate every possession will transform McCullough from an elite talent and prospect to an elite player and potential pro.

Per Rivals....

Class of 2014 five-star Chris McCullough is a slender, quick and athletic power forward prospect. He's had limited touches in Charlottesville but did make a few nice scoring plays on Friday. He's currently listing Kansas, Syracuse, UConn, St. John's, Florida, Miami, Seton Hall, Arizona, Temple, Iowa State, Hofstra, North Carolina, Memphis and Miami. He's hoping to visit Memphis and Miami before the end of the month.

Per Rivals....

We wrote during the afternoon that Chris McCullough had been getting limited touches. Friday night, the class of 2014 five-star took matters into his own hands. He went and got the ball on the glass to get some easy finishes at the rim. Once he showed that he had come to play, his teammates started feeding him the ball and he added some medium range shots to go along with his work at the rim.

Per Rivals.... I know we were once pursuing Bell, but don't believe that is the case at the moment.

On the interior, 7-foot-5 center Mamadou Ndiaye finished a good camp effort with a strong day on the glass and defensively. Playing off of him were two energizers in Chris McCullough and Jordan Bell. Both extreme athletes, the five-star McCullough picked up where he left off on Friday slashing to the hoop and getting on the glass while Bell played with intensity and grit. Slightly undersized at the four, Bell plays as hard as anybody in the country and is a ridiculous shot-blocker/defender/rebounder in the post for a guy who goes 6-foot-7.
