McCullough was a force, scoring 26 points with 13 rebounds while displaying his ever growing skill set. Just a sophomore, McCullough already stands 6-foot-8 but needs to add a little weight to continue to succeed down low. That being said, he still scored almost at will from the post and showed some impressive athleticism in the open court, as well as range out to the three point arc.

McCullough is a target of several Big East programs, notably Providence and St. John’s who have offered him scholarships already. Rutgers and Pitt are also in on the young man.

Class of 2014 power forward Chris McCullough has offers from several Big East schools including Pittsburgh, Louisville, Villanova and Cincinnati, but he has his eye set on one Big East school in particular.

“UConn is my dream school,” McCullough told NRS, “they were my favorite team growing up. If they offer me, I think I’ll take it.”

While the quote sucks to hear and makes you scratch your head the article does mention us, just not the snippet that was posted above.

Calhoun can't retire fast enough lol. I don't know why any top kid would choose Uconn right now with penalties and Calhoun likely on brink of retirement. His quotes perplex me. SJU was his favorite school last year. Oh well, we'll see what happens.

He thinks UConn fits the profile of the school he's looking for and he mentions good graduation rates, up tempo play and playing time as a freshman? I'll give them up tempo play, but we and a few other schools also have that. How does a 2014 prospect determine now whether or not he gets playing time as a freshman? If he's that good he'll get playing time anywhere as a freshman. So, we're left with good graduation rates as the key differentiator? At UConn? Is he serious?

Well this one certainly is out of left field. I'm hoping this is one of those quotes that similar to the article the other day when recruits just say things to kind of shake things up

Yeah, I'm perplexed too...I thought he was a heavy St. John's lean before reading this...Calhoun is about to retire and they have all those penalties to deal with so I don't understand it either...I want kids that really want to be in NYC and playing at MSG

These are kids and they make mistakes. We all make mistakes. It's just that when we get older we have the advantage of experience so we make less mistakes by virtue of the wisdom we have gained through experience. They have to make their own mistakes in order to learn. We did.

 Affirmation of above post

“@_TeamMccullough: Idk why someone said my dream school is Uconn?”

Don't believe everything you read on the internet

Nerlens Noel supposedly said he was going to "shock the world" with his college choice. Really? How shocking a choice was Kentucky? Georgetown would have been more of a surprise.

New scout.com article. McCullough looking to cut list to 5 next month:

McCullough already has a long list of schools involved in his recruitment. He currently claims scholarship offers from St. John’s, Syracuse, Memphis, Iowa State, Temple, Rutgers, Providence, Miami, Florida, Arizona and West Virginia.

“I’m going to cut my list down to a top five,” he said. “Probably like next month.”

He’s already taken visits to St. John’s, Syracuse, Rutgers, Providence and Iowa State.

McCullough and Team Scan will play in of the Hall of Fame Championship Series this weekend. The second evaluation weekend in April, they’ll play in the Philly Jam Fest.

And Rivals.com with a story today on Chris:

McCullough, a five-star rated player by Rivals, and No. 10 ranked player in the class of 2014, has many schools vying for his services. When asked what schools he was considering, the five-star prospect said, "Syracuse, St. John's, Arizona, UConn and Miami (FL)."

He is only a 2014 prospect but has plans to narrow his list down soon and possibly make a decision well before actually being able to attend the respective program. "I'm planning to narrow it down after the summertime," he said. As for if any school's are already considered to make his shortlist, McCullough responded, "no not yet. I'm still wide open."

In addition, he mentions that a decision could follow soon after he narrows it down but he's, "not sure yet."
