Chris McCullough, PF (Syracuse Commit)

"I thought about committing but I'm not committing yet.I'm going to take some more visits. But it's still on my mind," McCullough told PGU. "I don't have a top 5 yet but if I had to choose now Arizona would be in my top 2."
Funny thing is the AZ board thought Chris was thinking about committing to them!

Those fans harassed McCullough to no end on twitter. One even asked for an autograph for his kids.( yeah, his kids want an autograph from a HS underclassmen). Bunch of scammers.

Did his father play ball at Pitt?

Chris's dad, Jerry McCullough, was Sean Miller's teammate at Pitt.

Interesting development

It's not really a development as it has always been the case. Jerry still played with Sean when STJ was Chris' "dream school". I recall folks introducing Chris as Jerry's son when I was first becoming aware of him. Jerry was a NY kid too, right? Don't recall if STJ recruited him or if he wanted them to. Anyone remember that far back?

You might be right but I don't recall hearing about the father before.

I know times and regimes have changed otherwise we wouldn't even have sniffed this kid but it sure helps ARZ cause and makes sense now why they have entered the picture. As if they needed more ammo since their top classes in '11 and '12 were enough but the relationship and familiarity will help.

As of know it definitely seems like he's a heavy St. Johns lean

He loves Lavin, the rest of the staff etc and from what I heard, SJU really is his dream school. I think we are a heavy favorite at this point, but Lavin and Co. are not the types to pressure the kid. Certainly a real good sign he's coming to midnight madness. Kid is big time.

No one should forget or ignore Sean Miller of Arizona who played with Chris' father at Pitt. Arizona will be tough to beat in this instance IMHO.
