Chris McCullough, PF (Syracuse Commit)

If ever there was a "must get" recruit for this program, McCullough is it.

I don't know what Lavin has to do, just getterdone.

There is no longer such thing as a must recruit for SJU.
We lost out on Gathers we got Sanchez , Obekpa and Jones.
We lost out on Wood we got Belamou and Bourgault.
Those days are long gone.

And none of those were a Top 10 recruit from NY or even close.

You're mentioning complimentary recruits, JUCO transfers and end of the bench guys.

The ramifications of landing a local recruit that highly ranked and capable with this coaching staff at the helm will benefit this program for years to come. Name a PG or a wing that wouldn't follow him here.

I sure hope the staff doesn't have your mentality when it comes to McCullough.

Chris McCullough is at St. John's men's bball practice this morning he has tweeted.

@CincoDeMayo_: Watching st johns practice , Good morning

As he just tweeted, Chris McCullough took in St. John's practice this am. Been told Johnnies in great shape with the Bronx prospect. #stjbb

Adding another 6'10 body, 5 stars on rivals #10 nationally would be unbelievable. I just hope we lock him up.

We have not had a top 10 recruit since Ron Artest but Lavin has filled the roster with very good talent.
Anyway you completely missed my point which is that there is no longer such thing as a make or break recruit for this staff. If everyone stays and is healthy we will be good to excellent over the next three seasons. If we add CM WE WILL BE EVEN BETTER.
By the way most schools would kill for Obekpa and Sanchez and I failed to mention Jakaar because he re-committed.

Not good:

@TheRecruitScoop: 2014 Brewster Academy (NH) forward Chris McCullough tells @FinkelsteinNERR that Syracuse is his leader.

Are you aware that the child who tweeted this is a 17 year old syracuse frehman?

As much as I'd love to take shots at Kline- He retweeted what Adam Finklestein of ESPN first wrote. There is article on ESPN about it.

It's not the news we wanted to hear, but there is still time. 'Til he commits, then we have a chance.

I don't get the package deal of "New York players". Why don't they want to play for the NYC team instead of the Canadian team 300 miles up there? It's like Chicago players saying they want to play in the most remote part of Illinois.

Two things to remember: Nerlens Noel and Chris Obekpa.

The former gave false leads on where he was headed, while the latter seemed destined for one place, but ended somewhere differently.

I'd love to land McCullough, as I felt good about him joining the squad. I'm sure the staff has a solid, contingency plan in place, if he ends up with Syracuse.

Per Zags....

There could end up being an in-state recruiting war between Syracuse and St. John’s for 2014 forward Chris McCullough, a potential one-and-done player.

“I don’t really have a leader,” he told SNY.tv by text Tuesday. “I just feel like Syracuse and St. John’s [are] showing the most love.”

Now the quote is growing haha

Zags is such an annoyance. He just had to follow up with McCullough after he gave info to the NYP?

I feel he does more harm than good a lot of times. And in this cases especially for kids that are 2 years away.

Is this guy old enough for your liking?

@NYPost_Brazille: Chris McCullough @CincoDeMayo_ confirms to me Syracuse is his leader at the moment. #collegehoops

#stjbb RT @CincoDeMayo_: Dont really have a leader school right now! Just feel like Cuse, STJ, WVU is showing the most love
