just gonna assume you’ll see a lot more red. despite recent success, we still struggle to get 5k for home games and don’t have much history of traveling en masse for anything but the low-tier bowl games we occasionally sneak into (Texas and football )Nice post. Between the Red Storm & Mean Green, should be a colorful crowd today!
Ironically we're playing Boston College that same day at Barclay's as part of the Brooklyn Showcase. I think you guys play at 11:30, then there's another game followed by Johnnies vs. BC.just gonna assume you’ll see a lot more red. despite recent success, we still struggle to get 5k for home games and don’t have much history of traveling en masse for anything but the low-tier bowl games we occasionally sneak into (Texas and football )
that said, I live up in Maine and am stoked to hear to Barclays in a few weeks for a game with Fordham
yes and no. I mean they only play 8 guys and 3 are transfers. Just easier to assimilate a few guys as opposed to 12Just a couple of things.
1- To be fair Zach seemed to leave out that Michigan was facing a couple of hurdles very similar to our own. They also were piecing together a team of transfers and were missing the head coach. Not that this is a be all end all but we need to keep it realistic.
Now you've made me nervous!St. John's is now a -5.5 point favorite
The getaway from the norm was one of the reasons the team would go away for a weekend of practices in Westchester (SUNY Purchase) and while staying in a hotel/resort.The team, after practicing either in Taffner or Carnesecca for the last almost 6 months exclusively, really needs this trip to get away.
We used to look forward to our first road trip, getting away from campus life. Charter plane, great hotels with better beds, catered buffet meals 3x a day. Excitement of traveling to a new city, hopefully Rick does a city bus tour for the players for educational reasons. Practice in a new environment, possibly meeting former teammates on other teams in tourney, all go into road trip life in these tourneys. Team bonding with new roommates, film time and study hall with our academic support staff will fill out their day!
Hope those that are going enjoy the trip and the games this week…I will be watching from Chattanooga before I head to Tuscaloosa for the Mocs vs Alabama football game Saturday. I will be meeting up with former Alabama wide receiver (84) and St. John’s former football assistant coach Bill Getchell pregame.
This guy is a nice guy! Can we keep him?just gonna assume you’ll see a lot more red. despite recent success, we still struggle to get 5k for home games and don’t have much history of traveling en masse for anything but the low-tier bowl games we occasionally sneak into (Texas and football )

Wish the line movement meant something, but Vegas was right the first two games before the big Johnnies money came in. Hopefully third time's a charm.
I’ve said before, I’ll say it again. If there is one team Vegas can’t figure out, it’s St. John’s.
I don’t know what Pitino was doing leaving Dingle on him so long. I think that is a lesson that only needs to be learned once. He hit a couple of tough shots after we switched and then he went radio silent. I don’t think Burnett would have beaten us. It was a 37-35 game when he had 17 of his 21 pts and he hadn’t missed a shot.I get your point but Burnett is 6’4 200 and had 15 points by the first tv break.
Colorblind people everywhere will be anxious.Nice post. Between the Red Storm & Mean Green, should be a colorful crowd today!
Jets/Bills part 2.Colorblind people everywhere will be anxious.
Ah the infamous 3 day weekend at Doral Arrowwood in White Plains. We would practice at SUNY Purchase Friday night, 2-3 times on Saturday with the last session being a scrimmage with refs, and a Sunday session before we headed home. Great food, golf or tennis, health club, pool, sauna. The getaway from the norm was one of the reasons the team would go away for a weekend of practices in Westchester (SUNY Purchase) and while staying in a hotel/resort.
To be fair SJU was a bball top tier program from the 40's to the 90's, not just the 80's. And I am a former NTSU student going back to the Tony Worrell days.just gonna assume you’ll see a lot more red. despite recent success, we still struggle to get 5k for home games and don’t have much history of traveling en masse for anything but the low-tier bowl games we occasionally sneak into (Texas and football )
