You're dealing with sleep depravation which you've probably tried to cure with caffeine, so this time you get a spelling pass. :) Have a safe trip, enjoy the games and try not to have too much fun at the get-togethers, or as much as Nat let's you.:giggle:
 
Beasts of the East:
In the summer of 1982, I was the trainer for the Big East All Star team which was asked to go to Angola, Africa for a month by the US State Dept. At the time there was a nasty civil war going on between two factions, one being supported by Russia/Cuba and the other by South Africa. The hope was that if an American group was there, the fighting might stop and a peace agreement could be achieved. Carnesecca was the coach with Rutledge. We were accompanied by Carmine Calzonetti and Richard Lapchick.
While there, amongst other sites we visited, was the holding and deportation site and large museum of those slaves that were sent westward. Very powerful visit. I have pictures in my vast basketball collection of that visit as well as the jungle safari and other side trips we took in Angola.

Alright, finally over the big disappointment of getting stomped after what seemed like Ok was waiting forever, then the game starts and it was what I was expecting, then after that they just crapped themselves and at one point go down by 26. I'm sitting there like you gotta be freaking me, but hey s* happens right? It was like a crushing blow.

Now it's time to move on.

Lets have a good game on Thursday.

North Texas is far from a layup. Good programs have an inertia that is tough to overcome even after losing coaches or players. I think this is a 20 win team.

The opposite inertia can be true of programs that have been bad for a while.

He's driven like the best of coaches and players. I'm sure he was pissed off after Monday's debacle. Not only ticked off with his team, but also himself.

Like I said earlier, I think we're participating in the championship game on Sunday night.

Good for him! Having fans at team practices usually takes away from things including the ability for the staff to “tell it like it is” to the players. Also I’m sure Coach does not want anything getting out to the public of things from practice.
 
I’m in one game at a time approach with this team. I like their make up and the individual guys here but we just haven’t seen enough games to establish any patterns or know what we’re really dealing with. Great chance to watch them play 3 games in 4 days.

North Texas is not a gimme for a team that’s still a question mark. They’ll play us tough. Hopefully better communication on defense and more team ball on offense. I’m sure Pitino has been kicking their ass the pst couple days.
