...Can we make the Tournament?

Why is the league pressing to get our second uconn game rescheduled when multiple teams have played half the teams we have.??? Pass.  I think 1-0 vs UConn is just fine.  They should worry about teams like Xavier and Nova who have barely played. Plus Bouknight coming back this week and Andre Jackson is back... ;-)

New AP Top 25 poll: Nova #5, Creighton #19
St. John's received 7 points

Others receiving votes:
Colorado 41, San Diego State 38, Xavier 37, UCLA 35, Florida 29, Louisville 28, Belmont 25, Kansas 18, Drake 16, Minnesota 12, North Carolina 8, St. John's 7, Toledo 6, Clemson 6, Arkansas 3, Boise State 3, Saint Louis 2, UAB 1, Virginia Commonwealth 1, BYU 1

I'd like to know the last time there was a poll that didn't include Kansas, Kentucky, UNC, & Duke.  Those are the bluest of the blue bloods.

This year is ours for the taking!!  Great year to earn respect back if we can keep playing cohesive ball.

After seeing some brackets, I think we'd need to finish at least 1 game above .500 in the Big East. Otherwise we'd likely need 2-3 BET wins.

I knew that was the year for Kentucky, Duke and UNC.  Same for Kansas?

Three games to monitor tonight if your team is sitting squarely on the bubble (ahem, St. John's):

Miami (FL) @ UNC

Nebraska @ Minnesota

Ohio St @ Maryland

UNC will be out with a loss. Minnesota will likely be out with a loss. Maryland will be in with a win.

@Brad_Wachtel

I think all conference tournaments shoud be cancelled.  and just let the NCAA committee choose the field of 68 based on league play.

Incredibly since the inception of the AP poll in 1949-50, it has happened only 5 times where at least one of the above mentioned blue bloods were not ranked.

Week of:
Dec. 22, 1952
Dec. 29, 1952
Jan. 05, 1953
Feb. 22, 1960
Dec. 18, 1961

Time frame between conference tourneys and "Big Dance" are absurdly short and rife with risk of disruption imo.

The thought of winning 2-3 BET games seems impossible. For starters, when was the last time we even won 2 BET games in the same year? It has to be back during early in Jarvis' tenure.

That's just incredible to me.  Thanks for passing on the knowledge!

I still think the NCAA will make an adjustment to the quantity of teams in the tournament . Weird year will cause them to re-think  64 .

Also, win total not as important, due to postponed games that will not be made up.

Room112 - I agree, but fortunately we should be favored in most games and a .500 (or worse) BE should be avoidable if we play anywhere near our current level. The only game we won't be favored in at this point is @ Nova.

I think if we win 4 of our last 6 (assuming no Uconn game) we probably won't have to sweat out Selection Sunday no matter how the team performs in the BET. Going 4-2 would be 17-9 (11-8 ) I'd be really suprised if they kept a Big East team with that record out even in a down year.

That being said if the BET started tommorow I like our chances. Just keep winning.
