If you look at the top 25 plus others in the also drawing votes only 4 ACC teams get mentioned.
Virginia, Virginia Tech, Ga Tech and North Carolina. How many teams will the ACC get in?
Florida State is ranked #15 and Syracuse and Duke are both likely in if they can win another game, not to mention Clemson & Louisville who while losers yesterday are in most brackets going into yesterday. I expect despite ACC's relatively weakpower rating this year, they will get at least 6 or 7 in.
This is my view as well. The Big East deserves to get 3 teams in. The ACC deserves to get maybe 4 teams in. The Pac 12 deserves to get 1 team in. These are conferences that would typically end up accounting for another 10-12 teams in the field.
The committee can go deeper into the Big 10, and take another team from the SEC or the Big 12 than it usually does. But it will still need a half dozen or more teams to fill out the field.
At that point they need to either (a) take more mid-majors or (b) go deeper in the conferences that usually fill out the field.
I am always in favor of them taking more mid-majors, but they never do. So I expect they will wind up taking more teams from the Big East and the ACC and the Pac 12 than deserve to go on paper.
