...Can we make the Tournament?

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. One game at a time. Right now I'm just hoping we get past SHU.

Does this mean we want Xavier to lose so we could potentially take their spot?

Yes. Then beat the hall and jump both.

The most fitting way for such a weird season to end would be for games breaking our way and us getting in, so I expect Xavier to blow this lead.

So Xaviera lost, we beat the Hall tomorrow and we are the 4th team from the BE in the big dance.

I disagree.  I think we have to win 2 to get in.

Agree.  We might have a chance with one win, but two I think we are in for sure.   It will shake out I believe.  Can't rest on our laurels. Gotta earn it now.

FWIW:

1.  I can't see the NCAA taking only 3 teams from the Big East.
2.  Xavier is done.
3.  That makes Seton Hall v SJU a play-in game for the 4th spot from the Big East..
4.  Yes the winner should probably win another game to be solidly in the field or they could easily find themsevles in the "first four" game BS.  But by process of elimination the winner of Hall/SJU is the 4th Big East team in the NCAAs
5.  The exception (unless you think only 3 BE teams are getting in) would be if someone other than Nova, Creighton, UConn or SJU/Seton Hall wins the Big East Tournament.

The committee doesn't have a set number of teams per conference they have to take, if only 3 teams have the resume in the BE, only 3 teams will make it. Seton Hall and St. John's both need at least 2 wins to feel like they have a shot to make it.

DePaul's win over Providence should help SJ"s rating.

It all comes down to beating SH. SJ can't dance without that win.

That would at least get SJ into consideration.

That would be the exception in #5.  However, the Big East power ranking is ahead of the Pac 12 and the ACC.  It would politically hard for the committee to justify putting 8 teams in from the ACC and 3 from the Big East.  Not impossible, but I think very unlikely.

If you look at the top 25 plus others in the also drawing votes only 4 ACC teams get mentioned.

Virginia,  Virginia Tech,  Ga Tech and North Carolina.  How many teams will the ACC get in?

Florida State is ranked #15 and Syracuse and Duke are both likely in if they can win another game, not to mention Clemson & Louisville who while losers yesterday are in most brackets going into yesterday. I expect despite ACC's relatively weakpower rating this year, they will get at least 6 or 7 in.

DeCourcy and everyone else deleted Xavier , which is no surprise .  But , He did say trending on how you finish the Season and do in the Tourney (BE) count .   Today is must win for NCAA consideration , probably as first 4 out . If we win today and Friday , we should make it .  Friday win against Nova is better than win against G ' town , due to current rankings .
