...Can we make the Tournament?

While the Big East is certainly deserving of 4-6 bids this year, I don't think the committee looks at it that way. I think they view each team completely independent of how many bids their conference gets/deserves.

3 teams in the Big East would be ridiculous, but the league has gotten unlucky with the lower half teams not allowing the middle upper half to get separation. Xavier and Seton Hall have also fallen apart. It's possible there could be 3 Big East #1 NIT seeds.

MSG BET games I believe count as semi-home games for us. Maybe that'd be different this year since we haven't played home games at MSG? I don't know.

They count as neutral site.  It's never been considered a home game, at least since they've done NET.  Only time they counts as a home game if it's a scheduled as home game for them.

Making Plays - I'm almost certain that BET games haven't counted as neutral games for us in the past. I believe they've counted as either home or semi-home as far as RPI (now NET) goes. I can't say for certain how NET handles those games or if this has changed recently, but it was/is a thing. I don't think it's fair to us (and other teams playing tournament games in their home cities), so hopefully NET has changed this.

Nearly certain BET games have always been counted as neutral site games for us

I've never heard of a semi-home game for NET, there's no definition of that anywhere that discusses how NET works on anything I can find.  I know the Georgetown game at the BET last year was a neutral site game and was listed as a neutral site on the NET homepage.

Big East Tournament games have been treated as home games in the past.  It should be treated as a neutral court this year since we did not play any games there.  Prior years scheduling should play no factor in the outcome this year.  (i.e. Villanova playing only 3 games at Wells Fargo so it could be eligible for games in the NCAA Tournament there a few years ago)

It's a crazy year but in all honesty this is the worst the Big East has been in years. Besides Villanova injuries they arent even as good as they have been past years and have way more holes. This does bode really well for us in that we hve a legit shot to make some noise.

But I do agree I think 3 teams in would be crazy so I think there will be a dark horse who plays well in the BET that will also get in besides Nova, Creighton, UCONN

Seems like this year is the same story as every year in the Big East. Unlike most others conferences with dead weight at the bottom, the Big East is pretty strong top to bottom, and doesn't allow for any separation among the top half of the league. Everyone just beats up on each other throughout the season. Unfortunately this hurts in the long run. Plus this year most teams weren't able to do much out of conference so that hurt as well.

Step 1 is the same as it was a few days ago: beat Seton Hall.  Let's not get ahead of ourselves.

I would say that beating the Hall makes an NIT bid an absolute lock.  Would keep us on the NCAA bubble conversation depending on outcome of other games.

To start to be on the right side of the bubble they'd need to win another game after that but hopefully the team is focused on the next game and the next game only right now.

Agree LMF.  One game at a time.  I think 2 wins locks a bid, but can't get the second without the first.

Beat the Seton Hall Pirates for JSJ, Darrin and me and the other Johnny fans in the Garden State. Then we can start to worry about the post-season.

Step 1a - Make shots. Making shots dictates body language on both ends of the floor.

Just remember the slap in the face factor because every time we all get ahead of ourselves we get slapped in the face senseless and wake up bsck to reality. Beat Seton Hall !

Don't count the chickens before the eggs hatch.  The only guarantee for an NCAA bid is to win the BE.  I like our chances if we focus on one game at a time.

From the official NCAA NET guide, MSG has not counted as neutral games for us during the BET. The question is whether it's a home game for us this year since we haven't played there. See below.

Team A is playing Team B. For results and RPI/NETs, the contest is considered a neutral-site contest for both teams if the site:

Is a site used for a conference tournament that is not a regular home venue for a conference member.
Example: The Sun Belt Conference hosts its postseason men’s basketball tournament at the Verizon Arena in North Little Rock, Arkansas. Because no conference team uses the arena for its home games, it is a neutral site for all teams.

In the words of Eminem and MJM:back to reality, ope there goes gravity
Ope, there goes Rabbit, he choked
He's so mad, but he won't give up that easy? No
He won't have it, he knows his whole back's to these ropes
It don't matter, he's dope, he knows that, but he's broke
He's so stagnant, he knows, when he goes back to this mobile home, that's when it's
Back to the lab again, yo, this whole rhapsody
Better go capture this moment and hope it don't pass himYou better lose yourself in the music, the moment
You own it, you better never let it go
You only get one shot, do not miss your chance to blow
This opportunity comes once in a lifetime

From Bilas.. ranks top 68 teams. Has us at 65.

You'd better believe this team can do some damage on its usual home floor at Madison Square Garden this week. The Red Storm are 9-3 over their past 12 games, with wins over Villanova, UConn, Seton Hall and Providence. Their up-tempo style is tough to face in a setting where everyone is playing on back-to-back days. Having a healthy point guard in https://www.espn.com/mens-college-basketball/player/_/id/4433156/posh-alexander]Posh Alexander (sprained thumb) would help.

If the 4th place team in the big east makes it to the Big East final game, they are getting in.

The committee cant keep a big east team out that finished 4th and made a big east final run.
