Butler, Sat., Jan. 4 , 2p, FS-1

I've only used the Ignore button for 1 poster. (Bet that poster feels honored).
But it still shows them posting just hides the content. Wish it just didn't show them at all but alas.

I think its always been a bit of a cesspool. But when we were bad there was a certain tone. Now that we arent bad its a much different vibe.
Did that poster graduate from Fordham between 95 and 97?

It wasnā€™t the best move but Butler did not even try to run back on D for 9 seconds. He should have just dunked at the buzzer if they never came back on D.
Why? Butler didn't run back on D because the Butler team and probably 99% of the fans in Carnesecca Arena assumed he was simply going to dribble out the clock which by the way is the good sportmanship thing to do. St. John's was ahead by 10 points when he pulled his stunt. Wilcher didn't need to rub the win into Butler's faces.

"Obvious win", huh? As I said the other day, there is no such thing as an obvious win at St John's
It's about time that CRP accepts the fact that this team can't shoot from outside for __ __ it!!
IMO, nobody on this team should be allowed to shoot a 3 unless you are unguarded and have time to set your feet
If you violate and miss, you come out on the next dead ball
Kudos to Kadary for coming to life down the stretch but he looked totally disinterested for the first 35 minutes
Sim looks like he has lost confidence in himself. Enough said about his antics at the end. Total bush league move!!
This team needs to regroup and play to our strengths if we are going anywhere this season
This was a very poorly played game. Had we played a better opponent, the results would have surely been different
Sim totally has lost his confidence regardless of the end I gotta give him credit heā€™s always first off the bench cheering the guys on even when he is having a bad game.

Personally while I understand the 3 angst we gotta short ourselves out of it IMO

Any of you guys that have Matt A's number, tell him to find some stand still shooters. I actually feel our guys are just lacking confidence at this point
I agree RM86. I donā€™t think that weā€™re a fantastic shooting team by any stretch but I also donā€™t think that weā€™re 1-23 bad either. As I said previously, shooting is contagious when itā€™s good and when itā€™s bad. Our guys , after a couple of bad games are really lacking confidence now. They need to see a few drop and then I think theyā€™ll be ok. Still not great but ok. They had five rim out today.

ā€œShortā€ ourselves out of it? I think you meant ā€œshitā€ ourselves out of it. šŸ¤ŖšŸ¤£

Itā€™s sportsmanship to dribble out the clock when you have won the game however itā€™s is incumbent on the other team to run back on D and at least appear to guard the basket. If Butler does not have enough self respect to run back on D at all while 3 St Johnā€™s players are on the offensive side of the court then whatever SJ does is fair game.

For LMF and the rest of the anti Luis group. Hereā€™s his stats todayā€¦ā€¦.20 points, on 9-19 (47%) shooting, 11 rebounds, 2 for 2 from the line and 4 steals.

If any other player had these stats you would be celebrating. Clearly, without RJ, this team wouldnā€™t have won half its games.

Does he make some mistakes sureā€¦.. but numbers donā€™t lie!
He is sloppy with the ball, but that's the only issue I see. I will take five of him

I'm fully in the "do not show up your opponent" camp, but that said I did not have an issue with the Wilcher dunk attempt. To me it was an obvious attempt to hype up the crowd and put an exclamation point on a win on Carnesecca day. Not a jab at the opponent. And this is from someone who typically wants the players to just run the clock out. But that's just my view.

We barely won. Nothing to show off about. It was wrong and some coaches might show that before a next game to hype up their players. Don't need that at Hinkle.

Also, he was pissed at Pitino in the second half. He was talking to his dad the whole game.
Thatā€™s not a good thing at all. He should be focused on the game , his coach and his team the whole time not communicating with anyone in the stands. If that was going on, and Pitino was aware of it, I think a one game suspension is in order.

Is that a shot at jay wright? Love it!!!
Two of the best college coaches quit this year for the reasons Pitino mentioned.
It is the sad reality of the new semi-pro NIL mindset that has infected young players who almost see themselves equal to, if not more important, than any coach on the sidelines. They watch the LeBrons of the NBA but don't have a fraction of the talent or influence on the college level. They think that getting paid makes them more important but they don't have to live with any coaches decisions any longer as they just move from school to school but in the end.....they fail to grasp the importance of teamwork, working hard to impress the coach, etc....because they don't have to.

I donā€™t have a problem with critiquing him when he makes a mistake but there are some on this site that are relentless and have actually made such comments like ā€œI wish he were elsewhereā€ or ā€œPitino should burry him on the bench etc.ā€.
