Isn't USC terrible this year? And St Louis graduates it's entire team next year. It's hard to know one year from the next. Getting into a better pre season tournament then the Barclays tournament that we lost to Penn State and beat Georgia Tech in would help. I think we should consider playing UCONN again.

Andrew, what does UConn do for us? They are not even good enough for the watered down ACC?

They are #28 in RPI this year and will likely remain a top 50 program for a while. They will also welcome the chance to play St. John's. I am not sure we are ready to play the Florida, Arizona and Kansas's of the world just yet.

We should be part NY based tournament like the Big 5 in Philly. There are so many good coaches in this area now. Play it with Fordham, Iona, Manhattan and LIU or St. Francis. Then we could cut Monmouth, Longwood,Youngstown State, etc. off the schedule. That would help college basketball in NY. The high school players love the Big 5 tourney in Philly, choose sides and become fans of programs like Villanova and Temple while they are still in high school. Helps local recruiting. Then it's merely scheduling good out of conference games and all of the sudden you have a top 25 schedule. Why doesn't anybody do this like they do there?

I agree with OLV, no way do I schedule uconn. It will only help their recruiting by playing at the Garden. We get nothing out of it. They wanted out of the BE, so screw them. I would also tell Syracuse go find some other way to the Garden after next year's game. Screw them and their self absorbed fans too.

Let those fans buy plane tickets to Memphis. And sit Calhoun next to the Memphis band.

USC is currently 11-20 overall and a pathetic 2-16 in the Pac 12 - but they won't remain that way. SC's new coach Andy Enfield (first year) is the guy who coached Florida Gulf Coast in last year's NCAA's past G-Town and San Diego St to the Sweet 16. They will get better. Recruiting is already markedly improved.

I would love to see us book a home and away with the Trojans. Full disclosure: I am an SC grad.

I know they have Rhinhart(not sure if I got the name right) coming in and I think they have a nice recruiting class on top of that. Would be a nice OOC game. I would like to get the UCLA or Duke (even though I hate them) thing going again. All of the teams in the Big East will probably be loading up before conference play.

If Uconn loses Daniels to the draft they could be AWFUL next season. They lose Napier (18 points 5 assists per game), Giffey, Olander, and Lasan Kromah
(24 minutes 7 points, 3 bords, 34.5% from three). Facey and Philllip Nolan have bee huge disappointments. Omar Calhoun has had a God awful soph season (14 minutes, 4 points, 24% from three), and Rodney Purvis will be running point out of position.

We'd crush them if Daniel returns or not.

So where do you see Daniels fitting in this loaded draft?

No idea. I haven't seen him play in a long time. My biggest knock on him was his jumper, but he's shooting 42% this year. He's got the size and athletic ability. I'd take him all year over Sampson...but I wouldn't even pick up and undrafted Sampson for the summer league at this point.

I want to play Syracuse every year, it would be nice to start beating them. If they want to cancel (which they won't) let them. But if we decided to end then it's like we are running away from them and they will continue to call themselves NY team. The only way to take it away is by playing them and actually winning. They will find a way to play in the garden so it mind as we'll be us.

He does 2 things a lot better than Karr.
Shoots 3 and shoots FTs.
However inside the arc Karr is the better player.
My point was your jettisoning Daniels to the draft but dismissing Karr when IMO they both aren't ready but realistically either 'could' feel they are.

Moose, I know you mentioned Minnesota as a team looking for a game next year, I think we should play them as well. Aren't they a host of the preseason NIT next year along with us? That would make an opportunity for us to play their talented squad.

It's cool we don't have to worry too much about this in 2015, the Maui invitational gets you 2-3 games against solid opponents right off the bat.

Pre Season NIT Final Four (projected): St Johns, Minnesota, Georgia, Gonzaga.

That's a bit of an upgrade, not as good as Maui in 2015 but better.

Zags will be pretty good too. They return Pangos, Bell and the big Karnowski. Plus lots of expereience like Coleman and Nunez. Kyle Wiltjer will be eligible and they have some good recruits including a top 5 PG.

Don't know if brackets are out yet but got a feeling it will be us and UGA on one side and Zags and Minn on the other.

Cassell, Jr. is a JUCO kid. He was considered a top 150 player when he came out of HS a couple years ago.
