BRACKETOLOGY, RPI, SOS

Nebraska wins again. Tim Myles is a rising coach doing super job there.

Tennessee and Arkansas both extremely convincing tonight, especially Arkansas.

Army hits a jumper with 13 seconds left, and knock off bucknell in quarterfinals of the patriot league conference tournament, 72-71

Wagner, a two seed in their conference tournament, won and advance to the semifinals against St Francis (NY).

Glenn Braica looks like he learned well from his mentor Norm and ended up blowing an 8 point lead with a minute left to lose in regulation. Wagner will play Mount St. Mary.

I jinxed it ;)

Dayton up 8 with under 4 to go at fast-fading St. Louis.

We lose ground in the bubble race every day we don't play (never mind not winning, not even getting the chance to makeup ground here).

St. Louis took some rushed shots, while they could've went for a deuce much earlier. Dayton is about to pick up a huge road win against a St. Louis team that looks to be leaking oil (fast-fading, as you stated).

The odds of us getting an NCAA bid at this point are pretty high against, probably 15-1 against. The team controlled their own destiny with 4 to go, and promptly lost to Nova and Xavier. The Xavier loss at home basically justifies why they aren't a tourney team, and they played poorly at Nova. After their poor start, a team on a mission can't afford to stumble like that. Barring a deep run into the BET finals plus a win at Marquette, this team is going to the NIT.

I always thought 21 would get us in...but the last 7 days or so have gone almost as bad as possible.

We need 22 wins...

Yea, I've been pretty optimistic, but nothing is falling our way in terms of the other bubble teams. Still a lot can happen, but now we definitely need to reach the BE final, and I hope that is enough.

Weve downgraded to next four out in his latest bracket...getting no help at all from other teams

It's never a good situation when your success/fate is ultimately determined by the success of other teams and getting help from them. It's sucks to know that games we played 3 months ago, when we were still finding ourselves as a team, may ultimately cost us our ticket to the dance......but that's the nature of sports I guess.

I think we're lucky to be considered next four out after the loss to Xavier. A win on Saturday and winning at least 2 games in the BET should put us in good standing.
Having our name on the NCAA brackets will be a huge moral boost that will carry into next year.

I was of the same thought too. Ugh. 22 is a must.

I guarantee if we win Saturday and get to the BE finals we're a lock. There is absolutely no arguing that. To those saying we need to win the BE tourney I say, come off it.

We returned nearly every player on our roster from last year and had 20+ extra hours of practice/5 extra games than nearly every other team in the country because of the Europe trip. There shouldn't have been the "finding ourselves" that occurred with regards to lineups/roles/identity. This team should've been ready to roll in December. If we miss the tournament there are no excuses.

As, of today, we're in the "next 4 out," instead of the "First 4 out." But some of that has to do with teams playing (as, well as winning) while we were sitting idle.

We certainly have our work cut out for us, but it can be done. It's been beaten to death, but we have to win 3 straight or we're headed to the tournament, in which one of my childhood friend's once called (when the Johnnies went to the NIT during the '88-'89 season), "Needs Improvement Tournament." That bastard had several folks around us laughing with that one. LOL

Dont know how much credibility they have when it comes to bracketology but Rothstein & Borzello still both saying we need to win conference tourney to get in

Rothstein has been on this for a couple of weeks now. He has zero insight and just talks nonsense.

Borzello is just a joke.

Both are company men.

I hate Rothstein, he takes stats off a piece of paper and acts like he knows what he's talking about. The other day, he tweeted "stop Ethan Wragge, stop Creighton, only had three points in loss to Georgetown"

That's not even true, Wragge has only scored in double digits in 5 of creightons last fifteen games, and they have gone a comfortable 11-4 during that stretch.

But of course the only game Rothstein has probably watched of Creighton this year is the first nova game, so he assumes he's a consistent asset.

"Stop McDermott, stop Creighton" is more true, obviously.
