BRACKETOLOGY, RPI, SOS

Hopefully CO will be 100 percent and Sheed will be playing w a clear head. If we play like we did a couple of weeks ago we can get it done.

we are 1-7 vs. the top 50. we will need to win the big east tournament and be an auto qualifier - no way we get a bid with the current resume' as an at large qualifier.

so the marquette game really isnt a "must win" rather the big east tournament is.

May be right, but IMO beating M'Q on road will give this team confidence going into BE T. We clearly dug ourselves a deep hole we may not get out of.

I don't think we have to win the BE tourney. If we beat Marquette, win in round 1 and knock off Villanova or Creighton, that would do it.But that's is still a big if.

And what are the records of the other bubble teams we are up against vs the rpi top 50? Any idea? You'd be surprised

Who knows! Strange.

@KieranDarcy: Just checked with @ESPNLunardi -- at this point, he thinks St. John's could lose at Marquette and still get an at-large bid. #SJUBB

@KieranDarcy: Red Storm would need to make Big East championship game, in that case. Beat fellow bubble team in quarters, Creighton/Nova in semis #SJUBB

Relax Avon. Put on your Stringer Bell hat and think about the bitness side of things. It's a weak bubble this year. 3 wins in a row and we are a lock. 2 wins and we are chewing our nails off next Sunday.

The Atlantic 10, AAC and SEC are all weaker conferences then the Big East but might wind up with more bids this year. Seems unfair.

I would bet my house that if we beat Marquette and win first 2 games in Big East Tourney that we will be in. It would be a lock. They even have a chance if they win 2 of their next 3.

Can you tell us a little more about your house? You might have some takers on that bet.

Win 3 out of the next four. Marquette plus two, or lose to Marquette and win the BET. That's the math.

Is this your opinion of are you stating a fact?

I still feel that w/ bubble being so soft that if we beat Marquette and win 1 in big east tourney, we are in. A 21-12, 10-8 big east team NOT in field - rare. I'd take my chances. But I know some think 22-23 is what's needed. If we lose Marq, then I think winning 3 could be only option. I think finishing 10-8 in be is huge.

Before I get jumped on, I know it's a new big east but still...

Need a big win at Creighton and we are in, the rest is all fluff unless of course it's BE tourney champions

This is the new Big East, though. Big difference. Plus, I remember some weird anger directed toward the seven breakaways. No telling if selection committee members had same weird anger. I think we need to make it as easy on committee as possible. I personally need three straight wins before I start worrying less. A double-digit win over Marquette would be a nice start.

I'll certainly take a double-digit win, but it's not needed. Just a win on the road would suffice.

I ordered a new johnnies t shirt to be worn for the game. God I'll be a wreck! We need to keep our nose in front. I just don't want to see us have one of those 36% nights from the field. :(
