BRACKETOLOGY, RPI, SOS

People being stuck thinking 3 more wins gets us somewhere are only setting themselves up for disappointment.

One of the people thinking 3 wins is enough is Joe Lunardi, so at least we got that going for us which is nice.

Let's just worry about win 1 before we start talking about wins 2 and 3 and 4 and 5.

Totally agree. Let's just win vs DePaul and go from there. I do think 21 gets us in...22 a lock. Xavier was an egg but season isn't over yet. People can judge season in a couple weeks, just don't jump off bridges just yet. Let's hope we can build some momentum and get everyone healthy (Obekpa) and focused. I do think the gap between games will help us take a few deep breaths

I assume everyone has factored in the potential for a non-tournament team making a run in their conference championship and bumping a bubbler?

But if we won the next two, and Nova/Creighton take care of business, and then beat Providence/Marquette in the BE tourney, we'd probably knock them out, and be in position to take the 4th spot out of the BE (assuming Xavier gets the 3rd).

There is no such thing as play in games anymore guys, no matter what you choose to believe if they are part of the field of 68 they are in the dance.

It's a play in game just like we're the Redmen.

LOL

Seriously though, they were play in games when it was the lowest 4 seeds playing for 2 x 16 seeds but not you have teams playing for 11 seeds and 12 seeds. Not nearly the same thing. So play in games are dead but the Redmen will never die!

DePaul just beat SH easier than either of our two games . SJU has scored 107 points in their last two games. If the players are thinking DePaul is a game to relax about then the season is officially over.

We dont need to worry about the next two games. I say save Obeka if he needs rest. We aint going anywhere unless we WIN the BE tournament. Look at it this way. Nova and Creighton are in, Xavier has to be picked over us. I dont see the BE getting more than 4 bids. So that means we have to get the 4th bid or bust unless we win the BE. It aint happening guys, this team doesnt have what it takes. They have crumbled all year. The loss to Penn State and D'lo missing the free throw in regulation is typical of this team. The loss to Cuse when we had them on the ropes, we couldnt close the deal. Same with the Nova loss in Philly. I can go on but why. It isnt new, we see it year in and year out as our hopes get crushed. I would like nothing more than to see us get into the ncaa but it is time to take off the rose colored glasses and look reality in the eye. To paraphrase a song from the Righteous Brothers- We've lost that winning feeling

Played Syracuse and Wisconsin Neutral site.

Two power conference teams g-tech and penn state and a good mid major bucknell.

Your a joke

2/5 victories out of the weakest teams there.

Save your joke comments. We played all of those teams without any gameplan whatsoever.

Why Wagner? Why San Fran? Lavin's strategy was to hope these teams would win their conference and thus give us an RPI boost.

We played Darthmouth in January. In January, Georgetown played Michigan State on our home court. Huge difference.

Facts are facts. We have a good SOS but there are bubble teams out there with more quality wins than us. That is ultimately what will count.

People being stuck thinking 3 more wins gets us somewhere are only setting themselves up for disappointment.

San Fran is #72 in the RPI and 17-10 without Dooling. That is a very good win for us. Penn State just swept Ohio State.

@JonRothstein: Bubble teams with big games today: Dayton (host UMass), Ok St (host Kansas), Arkansas (at UGA), Tennessee (vs. Vandy), Minnesota (at Mich).

Good job, room!

Thanks, have no problem putting one of these together each day, makes it more fun when knowing who to root for/against.

makes it much easier for people like me who are too lazy to figure it out for ourselves.+1 for you

I can't take all of the credit, the top half I got from Sporting News, and the bottom half is from Jerry Palm on CBS.

Dayton with the big win, everyone is getting big wins down the stretch but us

That was a big win for them, but they've also got big games coming up against Richmond and St. Louis.

NC State (two spots in front of us) just lost at home to Miami, Indiana St. (one spot behind us) just lost at home to No. Iowa, and Richmond is down 16 to #151 RI.
