Mullin had to go and there’s never an easy way to do this. Look how contorted ucla’s search was. Need to give Cragg some time here. He’s the one tasked to repair mistakes of our trusty administration.
None of it is his fault? This all falls on his shoulders. Thats how it works when you're AD in charge. The Hurley rumblings have been around since mid-January and were whispered about way before that. They didn't come out of thin air. He struck out and was caught off guard. You don't have a vision of a world class program with Tim Cluess as it's head. He coould've extended Mullin and incentived his contract and had a buyout clause. Then reasses on a yearly basis. Provided him the support that 3 AD's before him couldn't do or didn't know how to do. If the decision needed to be made to move on then you already have a foundation set from within the administration.
and we don't know if Cragg didn't offer those terms and we don't know that CM didn't turn them down. In short none of us knows anything about the Cragg-CM summit unless we get a transcript of same.
He didn't offer any type of extension. Why do you think Mullin contacted President G and Oliva?
Mullin contacting our esteemed President was as useful as Sal Tessio's last plea to Tom.
