Big East Tourney

We have to do our part, which is all that matters.  That said, Butler helped us and a Providence win would too.

Can't even tell if there are fans at the Garden. They should have opened the lower bowl so that the fans could be seen on TV and heard by the players.  And if the capacity limit is 10%, I don't understand why the Garden doesn't allow 1900 spectators, instead of the 1000 being allowed.

DePaul falling apart here.
DePaul is the best sorry team I ever seen.  There's no way this team with Moore, Weems, Freeman-Libery, and Pauly that they should only have 4 wins, all 4 of those guys could start for majority of Big East teams. They have the talent to compete with anyone, however they pick and choose when to show up, and when they face adversity they crumble.

coaching... they're talented IMO.  Many more highly ranked kids that we have.

DePaul up 7 with under 4min to go, looking to make it 3 teams with losing records to advance on Day 1. Wacky.

Cooley really underachieved this season with a lot of vets back, a solid inside guy in Watson and very good guard in Duke. The latter has really gone into a funk this year. This is not one of Cooley's better efforts

Providence and Marquette were, IMO, the two biggest disappointments in the league this year.

As far as Ed Cooley is concerned, two things you can always be assured of:

1.  They will be a dangerous underdog

and

2.  They will be dangerous to back as a favorite.

Looks like DePaul will pull this one out, not a good loss at all for Cooley.

The good new about DePaul winning is this probably means no Q4 loss on St. John's resume.  Worst losses now will be Marquette at home (Q3) and DePaul at home (Q3).

Wow, and I thought Providence winning would help us more, but maybe avoiding a Q4 loss is even better.

It was a win/win situation.  If Providence wins our Q2 away win on them would have turned into a Q1 win.  If DePaul wins (which they did) it would turn that Q4 home loss into a Q3 loss (hopefully).  Which one is more important to the committe? I have no idea.  But, we do have opportunies to add more Q1 wins, if DePaul would have lost there would have been no way to avoid having a Q4 loss on resume.
