Around the Big East

Creighton game was crazy.... but they won in double OT.

Another great day for the conference.

@GoodmanESPN: @SethDavisHoops It's also the Big East starting to come back to Earth. Providence, now Seton Hall. But still built up lot of early equity.

Here they come. Goodman is such s tool.

Who expected the Hall to win at Witchita, Bilas not throwing us any bones over on ESPN either. Says whoever can get their tournament at the Garden should have the best tourney, with mentions of Big10 and ACC but not big east.

Never saw it that way. As a matter of fact I thought the ESPN announcers have been extremely complimentary to the Big East. I certainly did not feel their was an edict or anything coming from ESPN in their dialogue. They even did some promotion for upcoming games surprisingly.

Agree about studio coverage. They have given us plenty of respect. I was referencing the in game commentary during that game alone.

i agree - studio coverage was good, but Bilas was not going out of his wayt to compliment the Big East.

I will say this - we HAVE TO sell out MSG for the Conference Tournament. If we dont then we will eventually lose the Garden to one of the football conferences. Thats why adding UConn would be great for us - their fans travel and they have a great program...it would help with the overall profile of the conference and it would help sell out MSG in March. We had 15,000 for the Big East final last year and 14,000 when we played PC in the quarterfinals with an NCAA bid on the line basically- far from a sell outs. We can repeat that.

Dayton fans travel well also but Uconn has shown zero interest in returning to a basketball conference. None of the football conferences are interested in long term arrangements in one city like the Big East and the only interested are the Big and the ACC. Both have dates in New York and why worry about Uconn fans in the 2020's since their program will be dead by then. There were barely 11,000 fans at MSG last night with two top 10 teams Villanova and Louisville along with Indiana and Illinois. This city needs for St. John's to be relevant by 2020. For that to happen they would have to entice the ever restless John Calipari with and $8 million contract. I would mortgage the useless Long Island campus for that ;)

Calipari is the old girlfriend you regrettably blew off in favor of the ugly chick you thought could cook. She married the football hero. Cal isn't coming back. Enjoy dinner.

Come on, had Calapari come here he would have been long gone by now and I'm sure left trouble in his wake.

Maybe but their would have been a title or two to ease the pain.

True Newsie but I was being facetious. While we await the fate of Adonis there are probably 4 Kentucky basketball players that have not attended class yet and the rest couldn't find the library with a campus map. The great thing about America is they cheer the underdog and the platoon recruiting sales pitch will eventually feel like a sucker punch to some of these "stars".

@Brian_Ewart: KenPom has Villanova's lowest % chance of victory in the games AT St. Johns, AT Georgetown, AT Butler and AT Xavier. All above 50% though.

Don't think so but you could be right. Obviously we disagree but I am very glad we never went that route. I have never been a win at all costs guy.

Don't hold your breath while you await the fate of Adonis or we'll never hear from you again.

Sticking to my earlier theory that ADR's eligibility issues have little to do with SATs.

Based on the initial lies we were fed about Orlando's NCAA review, I'm not falling into that trap again.

@brianneubert: North Florida, Incarnate Word, Eastern Michigan, NJIT, Eastern Washington and St. Peter's have now won games in #B1G venues this season.

"Incarnate Word" ? Ouch for B1G

Creighton thought they were gonna be able to hang their hat on that win. Now it is not as good. Nebraska has lost to Incarnate Word and URI
