Around the Big East

Nothing for the Hoyas to be ashamed of. They went to to toe with the #2 team in the polls.

I would like to see SJU play in the Battle 4 Atlantis.....

There was talk of us playing the year after Maui.

So Georgetown now ends up having to play Butler, which obviously is not what was supposed to happen. Coupe of questions, is this type of conference matchup prior to the conference schedule unprecedented? And will it count as a conference game?

It happens from time to time especially with all the conference shifting and these tournaments booking years in advance. It doesn't count as a conference game.

It only happens with the conference shifting. There is not any pre season tournament that will, much less would be allowed to, take two teams from the same conference. I think that's what you meant though if you said only instead of especially it would have been clearer.

@ESPNAndyKatz: Can't say enough how well Chris Holtmann is coaching/running Butler as interim. Great win for BU. Leave Bahamas w/wins over UNC, GU.

@FriarFrenzy: Friars held down for the Big East today as league's fast non-conf start took detour w Ls by Xavier, St. J's, Creighton & Marq (losing) #pcbb

Seton Hall beats George Washington 58-54. Whitehead looked good. But they still haven't played a top-40 team and won't until Wichita State.

Was impressed with their freshmen

DePaul beat Stanford

WTF!

I love it...great for the conference, but wtf! We need to sweep Depaul and Marquette this year. Every other win will have to fought for tooth and nail.

Speaking of Marquette they are up early on Tennessee 34-29 on a neutral court in the Orlando Challenge. Tennessee is 2-2 and it would be a big win to put the Big East firmly ahead of the SEC in the RPI.
