Hopefully, Georgetown vs. Butler in the finals of this tournament will be the Big East's next non-conference loss.

Interesting. Assume this tourney was set up before BE realignment was finalized.

Yes. The teams committed before realignment. Tournament purposely put them on opposite sides, to try (as much as they can) to avoid them meeting up.

The Michigan/ Villanova game was a great game to watch with 2 of the best college coaches playing chess against one another. Both teams had a big run causing the opposing coach to counter.

This may be Villanova's most athletic team.

If they both lose today do they play each other in the consolation game?

Never mind just remembered this is the first round. I guess they will eventually play on day 3 if they have the same result every day regardless of what that result is.

I think Georgetown's beating Florida tonight, so they may both be in the semis, if this score holds (different games, of course). Of course, the Hoyas would likely play Wisconsin in a semifinal, which would obviously be no easy task.

Look like Butler is another Big East team that can rebound. It is possible that our limited ability will not be the problem but rather the rebouding ability of the rest of the Big East

Agreed, but let's just say, if Butler is playing Georgetown Friday night and St Johns is playing Gonzaga folks will HAVE to take notice of the BE, though it would be nice of Marquette could beat Georgia Tech.

At the Atlantis in the Bahamas
Final score was 74 - 66
UNC was ranked #5 going into the game
In the pre season poll, Butler was ranked tied for 7th in the Big East
Big East has only lost 2 games collectively to date this season
While there have been many cupcakes, there have also been many quality wins
Looks like our conference may be stronger than the "pundits" expected

We better come out punching. I am happy for the BE but not so great if we place ahead of only Marquette and Depaul

It is early but simply put, right now The Big East is the best conference in the country hands down. We need do this in March as well as November though.
