Around the Big East

Nova trailed by 8, but now at U4 they trail by 3 and when game resumes they have two FTs to cut it to 1.

Crazy game

Gritty win for nova. Big east is now 36-2

As much as we complain about St. John's, the Marquette fan has to be beside himself right about now. That 2 number sticks out like a sore thumb, for them.

It's like none of the Big East schools want to break this current win streak. No pressure St. John's. ;)

I'm assuming, (of course I hope I am wrong) that the streak will finally be broken at noon tomorrow when butler plays UNC. Georgetwon also plays Florida. Big day for big east tomorrow.

It is likely the biggest day of the regular season for the Big East given the unbelievably hot start.

Not on recruiting end. They nailed an excellent class.

• Xavier big man Matt Stainbrook is on an absolute tear. The 6-10 senior is currently shooting 84.4 percent from the field and averaging 17 points and 7.5 rebounds through the Musketeers' first four games. Several Big East coaches have said they believe Chris Mack's squad will emerge as the conference's top challenger to Villanova.

Love Xavier and suspect Nova, PC, Xavier, GT will be top four teams in BE. Early, but I just see my Johnnies being a middle of pack team at best. It would take a highly skilled coach, absence of injuries & smart play to contend. Just don't see it, but hope to be surprised. Tonight should tell us a little about the team.

@JonRothstein: Quinn Cook, Maryland, and why we'll know a lot more about St. John's after the next few days. Observations @CBSSportshttp://t.co/Dwp2K1GLnl

This year is a write-off for them. Buzz Williams had a stellar 2014 class coming in, almost all of whom proceeded to decommit when he left.

Butler leads by 5 at the U16, their 3s starting to drop. UNC can not shoot for the life of them outside of Paige,

It's amazing that Butler is ahead in this game, considering that Carolina is playing with an 8 on 5 advantage, if you know what I mean.

I know exactly what you mean! Season is young but worst refs so far this year by far.
