I'd sign up for that right now. Think team you have ranked below us that we have to worry about is Creighton.

Private institution....they can do what they wish as long as they meet min NCAA academic and school guidelines...

They are more like exceptions, due to the unique attributes they possess that contribute to the diverse student body.

Similar, are "legacies" at elite schools - students with sub-par grades (w/in reason) but parents are alums and donate decent $.

Flip side, on top level flagship state schools like UNC Chapel Hill, Michigan, UC system also have high academic incoming freshman, but I'm sure the athletes have wiggle room.

And I'm sure we do same....Remember Zendon Hamilton SAT issue ?

Makes sense

What curious to me is all the 4-5 star kids have duke on their list and Dike staff showing interest in all. Considering that Duke is a very competitive academic school All these ballers can have the grades for admission Whats going on

Duke makes exceptions for athletes like most other schools.

yes one their notable alums Kyrie Irving recently stated that the earth is flat.

Right you are Panther2.

Every school I know makes accommodations in the admissions office for recruited athletes. Even the Ivies make accommodations for athletes. The Ivies have by agreement established the "Ivy League Index" which sets minimum standards which member schools are suppose to comply with.

Providence #22 is among 4 Big East teams (Nova,SHU, X) in the mid-summer ESPN Top 25 BPI projections. Marquette was ranked #32.

Hoyas pick up Jamorko Pickett. 2017. Former top 100 player,(year in prep school) , was rumored to be heading to Maryland. Nice get for Ewing and staff.

Like the way they are playing either tough competition or exclusively local teams.

Kris Monroe of Raleigh, N.C., committed to Providence Thursday night via his Twitter page. Monroe attends St. David’s School and is regarded as one of the top private school prospects in North Carolina. He picked Providence after hearing from North Carolina State, Rhode Island, Charlotte, Old Dominion, Boston College and other schools.

Monroe played for the Team Wall AAU program sponsored by Washington Wizards’ star John Wall. He will join Boston schoolboy star A.J. Reeves in PC’s Class of 2018 that coach Ed Cooley regards as the most important of his tenure at the school.

Providence could sign four or five recruits in this class. The Friars’ top target now is certainly David Duke, the ex-Classical High star from Providence who is one of the top combo guards in the country. He is considering offers from Florida, Villanova, Virginia and Kansas, as well as staying home and playing at Providence.

A SF btw

I'd rather sign a recruit from Punk Rock High. Those mosh pits get you into shape for rebounding in the Big East.

I know Uconn isn't a Big East school anymore, but they just lost a recruit to Rutgers and all hell is breaking loose.

For anybody else following former Big East schools this is just hilarious.
