At SJU new bolts for plastic seats were installed.

I would think the big $$ Georgetown donors are starting to get antsy with JTIII. Given what he's had to work with, both in terms of high caliber recruits and facilities, he has consistently under-performed. IMO.

Sounds like a bigger (& better) version of Taffner Fieldhouse in that it is connected to McDonough Arena which is their on campus arena and makes Carnesecca Arena look like a pro arena for anyone who has never been to McDonough. Good for G'Town, I'd like to see all of the Big East schools have top notch facilities. The schools in the Football Five are always touting their facilities when it comes to recruiting, so we need to keep pace as best we can.

Butler lands a commitment from Jerald Butler. Averaged 10.2 PPG, shot 53% from the field in the UAA this summer. 6’5” power guard

Butler going to Butler seem like a perfect fit.

saw Bruce there in late 70's, felt like a high school gym.

Per Jeff Borzello;

Xavier redshirt freshman Eddie Ekiyor is no longer enrolled at the school. He's now at Carleton University in Canada for the fall semester.

6'8 PF & 4 star recruit

Wow not the end of the world by any means for Xavier but surprising. My son just told me Eddie is from Ottawa where Carleton is located.

Georgetown’s Paul White is transferring, per school.

Former 4 star F recruit who was out with injury for most of his sophomore year last season.

What's college ball like in Canada? I know the very cream of the crop head south, but I assume there are some good players?

Good and getting better.
Carletonis fantastic and is clearly the cream of the crop. Every year they play many division 1 teams and usually split. As an example last year they played Syracuse , who did go to the final four, and lost by 8.
This week in Montreal where I live University of Arkansas Pine Bluff split 4 games on their Canadian tour and Wichita State lost to McGill University.
Seton Hall women last by 25 to McGill women.
All team except for Carleton and University of Ottawa would be lower level Division 1 teams. Carleton and Ottawa would be mid majors I assume.

Academic load is toughest in the Big East. Heavy use of tutors and even then it is not enough.

Doubt this matters much to their season

Just found out there was a little behavioural problem and he was conditionally released from Xavier. Family felt he would be better served by being close to home.
Carleton has a few grads playing pro overseas but believe he is the highest ranking recruit to ever atrend Carleton University. As was just said a bad week for Xavier and I hope both players get their act together and no more disciplinary problems.
