The Musketeers have put together as aggressive of a non-conference schedule as almost any team in college basketball and that level of difficulty reflects the potential capabilities of a squad who returns four starters from last year's 28-win club.
Next season, Xavier will play road games at Baylor, Cincinnati, and Colorado while hosting Wake Forest, Utah, and Northern Iowa at the Cintas Center. Chris Mack's team will also play three games in the Puerto Rico Shootout.
That's a combined nine non-conference games against quality competition before the Musketeers face a single Big East opponent.

Seton Hall added guard Madison Jones for the 2016-17 academic year, sources told SNY.tv.
The 6-foot-1 Jones will be a graduate student and will help fortify a backcourt that lost sophomore point guard Isaiah Whitehead to the NBA Draft. Seton Hall returns guard Khadeen Carrington and will add 2016 signee Eron Gordon for the fall and Kansas State transfer Jevon Thomas at the semester break.
Sources said Seton Hall still has a scholarship available for 6-10 power forward Taurean Thompson, who is expected to announce between Seton Hall, Syracuse and Michigan State.
A native of Raleigh, N.C., Jones was dismissed from Wake Forest after he was charged with driving while impaired, along with a civil revocation of his driver's license. The university released a statement then saying Jones had been dismissed from the team for an unspecified violation of athletics department policy.

Christian David a 6 5 2/3 from Milton , Ontario , who now plays for Vermont Academy , is visiting Creighton this weekend. Last I checked he was ranked in the top 5 in Canada in the class of 2017. He is a very talented and smart player and would be a good pick-up for the Blue -Jays. He is also receiving strong interest from Butler so there is a good chance this Canadian ends up in the big East.
On another note very pleased to hear that Jerome Desrosiers whom I have watched play against my older son for many years before he went to Northfield Mount Hermon , and plays for Brookwood Elite in the summer, has announced he will go to Princeton University. He is a very explosive 6 7 wing who was also in the top 5 in the class of 2017 in Canada. Congrats to Jerome and great for Brookwood Elite.
