Creighton beat Cal, Seton Hall beat Eastern Washington & DePaul lost to Illinois St. today

I hate to say this about a mans job, but I dont see how DePaul can stick with Oliver Purnell. Unless he turns it around this season, they appear to be making no progress as a program.

Totally agree, Chicago could be huge for our league and he has been getting his butt kicked year after year recruiting.

Purnell has to go. He should have been gone before this year. That program is going nowhere fast. There is no reason for them to struggle. They have excellent fan support and can draw good crowds even when they are only mediocre. With the new arena, they need a big name to lead them. Purnell just looks like an old, sad dog.

I caught the end of the Creighton game. They were toying with Cal. When they are on, they are going to be so tough to beat. McDermott can score all over the court. He's the most complete offensive player I've seen in some time. Gibbs is also a very savvy kid.

You think he is better than Parker? I think Parker is the best player I have seen this year.

I always take the experience. Parker is terrific and will obviously have the better pro career, but McDermott does it all: back-to-the-basket, faces up in the mid to high post, comes off screens, shoots off the bounce, shoots from the perimeter, draw contact, etc. His shooting %s are absurd for the amount of attention he garners. Teams literally prepare and draw up schemes to just stop him--55% career FG and 45% career three pt %.

Parker's %s are actually nearly identical to McDermott's career %s but over a much smaller sample size. He also plays with much more talent and isn't, of yet, the same focal point of opposing defenses. You stop McDermott, you win. You stop Parker, Duke can still beat you.

+1, thought so from the first game I saw him. Parker just has it

Always something with PC, feel for them;

@KevinMcNamara33: PC sidelines Austin, Bullock for rest of the seasonhttp://t.co/BELjCUKGCM via @projo

ouch. heard they'd be back 2nd semester. the longer it went it seemed the transgression wasn't that bad after all.
they didn't initiate anything, buy what transpired afterward i guess was the icing on the cake.

Damn shame.

Schools will be knocking down the door for Austin's services.

Cooley is like Lavin's 2011 recruiting class where he got good recruits but they didn't suit up or play for them.

Was always rumblings he was part of the package. Some thought he might prep.
With Delgado news kind of appropriate.

@ESPNDanaOneil: A lesson learned brings Villanova back to national prominence http://t.co/Shxm9LGcJZ

Dana O'Neil's article is a nice read with regard to the chemistry which Coach Wright has brought to Villanova's roster.

I have seen Villanova play a few times this season and they lack the athleticism which other teams have but their players play well together and are seemingly not viewing their games as auditions for the NBA.

Below is another link to Ms. O'Neil's article.

The Big East member school picked up a solid 2015 commitment with Donte Diivincenzo a 6'4" shooting guard from Wilmington Delaware who (according to Rivals) selected the Big East school over 12 other schools which included Syracuse. Boston college, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, Vanderbilt, VaTeck, Penn State, St.Joseph's University, Rhode Island and others.

Rivals ranks Mr. Divincenzo as the #78 player in the class of 2013.

2013 or 2015?

EDit: Gman correctly noticed that I mistakenly typed 2013 rather than 2015. Mr. Divincenzo is a member of the 2015 cycle. Thanks. otis.
