Around the Big East

Thought the crowd was great. Like the conference the way it is. Maybe the attendance would be way better if Georgetown, Marquette, and St John's could put a better product on the floor

Only 14,000 Fans today. That is not going to be good enough, a few more teams to be added to scoop up tickets is a must.

I don't think that would change things. Things were a lot different in the old big east when you had lots of schools in close proximity to msg and who either worked in the area or were reasonable drive away and who traveled well like cuse and uconn

Everyone has to and always will finish 1 through 10. Can't have all winning teams.

ACC attendance in DC is terrible this year.
Very true. However attendance has been down throughout college basketball this year. There are many reasons for this, chief among them being a lack of star power in the college game. Lots of one and done players last year, and the incoming freshman class was relatively weak, compared to previous years.

Seton Hall in a tough one...tied with about a minute or so...I like their kids...tough and real good...can't believe we passed on Carrington...he is tough as nails

Agreed, they are a tough group. Gonna be good for years to come.

Carrington will make sure the Hall is no worse than decent these next two years. I happen to think williard gets a little bit of a bad rap

Whitehead was absolutely terrific last night. Creighton will be a force next year with that 5 star recruit and that Kansas state transfer to mesh with their great point guard and Cole Huff.

just another hurdle for St. John's to climb

I hope Whitehead has a great NCAA tournament. The better he plays, the more likely it will be he leaves.

As for Creighton, they will be pretty good next year. Great coach with kids that constantly get better.

While Creighton and Seton Hall both will be good next year, I expect Providence and Butler to take a step back next year with the guys they are losing. So I think our ceiling next year could possibly be 6th or 7th in the league. We will probably be projected 9th or 10th so that'd be great. My goal for next year. Don't play Wednesday in the BET.

As we look ahead to being much better next season, factor in most BE teams, net of DePaul, do likewise. Some are fortunate to retool, others usually fill bigger voids & rebuilding teams like SJU need several years to get to a consistent level of competitiveness.

Recruiting seems to be going well & hopefully Mullin's learning curve is a short one. If he sticks around for five years or so, we should be fine.

It was tough not be to envious of seton hall last night. A bunch of New York City kids playing and winning a big game in the garden.

Yeah, I know many posters still get ticked about Tiny /Whitehead/ Willard stuff, but give credit where due. As noted by another poster, Willard & staff have markedly improved SH defense. They also have a very good shooter coming next year & this current success should equate to solid recruiting. Just me, but I would love to see SH & SJU both prosper, creating an intense local rivalry.

from what I heard, they had a good crowd of hall fans so I am hoping eventually we can have a true home court advantage in the future.

Agree on Carrington. Very impressed with him. Williard comes off as a real ass.

I thought he was handed the job due to his connections as the son of a prominent coach. I thought he was going to fail at SHU. Now I admire the guy for what he has built and how he handled himself during a tumultuous season last year. Also, he is always respectful when his team is up by a lot in routs so I don't see him as an ass - and there are plenty of them in coaching.

Hats off to Willard. I hope they go far.

On related SH note per Zach B;

Good news continues for Seton Hall. 4-star 2017 guard Myles Cale of Delaware verbals per source. #hallin
