Around the Big East

Big East very well could have 4 ranked teams next week depending how Saturday goes. Great win Butler.

Hell, maybe 5 ranked teams if Georgetown wins.

Butler beats #17 Cincinnati at Cincy.

The Big East would be wise to kick us out for one year. We are going to bring the collective numbers of this conference down all by ourselves.

Atlantic 10 jumping for joy with win against Johnnies tonight

Atlantic 10 has nothing to be happy about Xavier beat Dayton so bad the flyers could've been sent down to D2, nova took care of an average at joes team, and Kris Dunn and Co. Are about to beat Rhode Island this weekend

Rhody is good, they better

Not the Big East, but was delighted to see Syracuse lose to a so-so Wisconsin team. Hope it's a sign of things to come for the Orange.

Seton Hall and Rutgers playing right now in a close game on ESPN news.

So many similarities between Rysheed Jordan and Whitehead. Low IQ scoring point guards who play a little too selfish.

Georgetown is pounding Syracuse. Up by 21 early second half.

Cuse may go from unranked, to #14, to unranked over a three week stretch here.

Almost guarantee Gtown will let them get back in the game, trademark of every JTIII team.

Right on cue there, Logan. Cuse got it down to 9 with 6 minutes left. 10 point game now.

Yeah momentarily, but in fairness Gtown has continued to play pretty well and the Cuse never got close enough to make them feel it.

Big East really dominating OOC. Still games to be played but my prediction for rankings on Monday:

#9 Nova- may move down since UNC (9) upset Maryland
#12 Xavier- staying in same spot
Providence- currently #23, will move up or move out depending on if they beat RI tonight
#23 Butler- should be ranked, currently #28 and won @ #17 Cincy this week
Georgetown- this is iffy if they can make it in. Clearly a top 25 team even though their record doesn't show it. Got 4 votes this week so don't expect them in but you never know.

Hopefully Providence wins tonight and we'll almost certainly have at least 4 teams in. Big East really in fantastic shape this year. Will be so much more interesting if Nova has a competitor (or 4). .

Bill Koch tweet;

#URI 36, Providence 32 at halftime at Ryan Center. Friars watched early 19-8 lead evaporate. Christion Thomspon (yes, really) leads with 10.

Providence up by two (68-66) with 2:27 to go. Great game.

Providence at the buzzer on a put-back following after taking it full court following a URI basket. Crazy game!

Man the big east looks loaded. We better get Lovett or I can't see beating anyone but DePaul

Even with LoVett, getting three wins would be an achievement. (And as I posted a couple of weeks ago, I just don't see the NCAA acknowledging it's made a mistake regarding his eligibility.)
