Trouble or just a senior speaking out of turn?

@CerasolisGhost: Brandon Mobley was very candid after Seton Hall's loss today. "It sucks. Right now, some guys are just playing to get through the season."

I'm not sure who he could be pointing the blame on specifically. They're definitely underachieving right now.

I know it is not Big East related but as a mod I will not start another thread , as we ask that the board not be cluttered so I will follow the rules, but it was recently asked what happened to Fred Quartelbaum. Well I just saw him sitting next to Norm Roberts on the Kansas bench as Kansas is preparing to lose to Oklahoma State.
Good for Fred Q a real class act.
Did you think Fred Q was a class act when he was blocking Billy Singleton's shot from behind? :)

Whitehead was 1-11 today, still don't know if they're talking about him

Reading that article, it may seem that those are directed to Whitehead or someone that doesn't care much about that season. Not saying Whitehead doesn't care, because I think he does, but he could be looking on to his future and might not be as invested as others that plan on being there for 4 years.

Whitehead was the first name that came to my mind when reading mobley quotes. I agree

Very interesting article. Mobley's clearly talking about Whitehead - who shot dreadfully and wasn't moving the ball- in this excerpt:

"Now it's like when we lose, ‘You're not passing the ball, you're taking too many shots, you're not doing this, you're not doing that.' At the beginning, nobody cared who shot the ball, nobody cared who scored, because we were winning and everybody was happy. Now when we lose, you want to point fingers."

As I believe Jack eluded to before, Minnesota beat Purdue today 62-58. Big win as that helps our resume and gives a loss to another bubble team.

Could not happen to a more deserving trip of Whitehead , Tiny and Willard. They are only all getting what they deserve. Many things we can knock Lavin for but not taking Whitehead and Tiny together and having to dump a staff member is certainly not one of them. As a matter of fact I applaud Lavin for his decision.

"We got happy. It started off when we got ranked. Once we got ranked, we got happy and then we lost our defensive intensity that we had from the start. Now it's like when we lose, ‘You're not passing the ball, you're taking too many shots, you're not doing this, you're not doing that.' At the beginning, nobody cared who shot the ball, nobody cared who scored, because we were winning and everybody was happy. Now when we lose, you want to point fingers. Until 13 guys come on board and care about winning and not anything else, it's going to continue to happen."

Ouch!

Brutal.

Imagine Harkless saying that as a Frosh with the season he went through being the best player, losing your coach, mid season transfers and a losing record.

Willard laid this bed of thorns and now he has to lay in it.

Grab your popcorn folks. This will be epic.

If you remember, Seton Hall played their best basketball without Whitehead. I spoke to some people involved with their program and they stated that there was more team play without him. Said that if he was playing, St Johns would probably have won since Willard runs a lot of isolation for Whitehead and it takes away from the other players games. If you recall, Sina, Delgado Carrington all played well. Same thing when they beat Nova. Sterling Gibbs was Player of the Week.

Yes, I do remember that and I remember thinking it first during the Seton Hall - Wichita game, when Whitehead was temporarily out to tend to an injury and Sterling Gibbs suddenly came alive in his absence. I can only imagine that with Whitehead missing a bunch of games he's now overcompensating for lost time. This isn't going to end well, IMO.

Absolutely agree Panther.

I'll say this about Lavin, that crap has never gone on at St. John's under him. Our players would take a bullet for one another, and Jakarr credited coach for that after the Creighton game last year.

It will be interesting to see how this unravels for seton hall

Lavin wasn't the coach that year. And not for nothing, nuri was at the garden today rooting on his former teammates, there is hardly hard feelings
