Xavier is barely on the right sid of the bubble. If they keep this up they might find themselves out on Selection Sunday. They have been inconsistent this year....the BE May only send 5 teams (but I think we will have a better showing in the NCAAs than last year).

St. John's can seal the deal for both teams by sweeping Xavier.

Marillac , i think we will need to win all home games (GT, X, SH, Creighton, Depaul), win at X and at Marq, which would put us at 10 wins in the BE and then we are in good shape. I dont expect us to win at GT or at Nova, but still a 7-2 second half of our schedule would undoubtedly right the ship. I posted the other day that Butler is not a "must win" but we would need to steal a road win at X, GT or Nova as well as win the Marq. game.

If all this breaks right then at 10-8 we shouldnt be satisfied going into the BE Tourney....every win would improve our NCAA seed as we woud more than likely be matched up against teams with high RPIs that are headed to the NCAA's.

10-8 in the BE should get us the 4/5 seed, which if we won the first game would mean a likely date with Nova in the semis....we havent played in the BE semis in 15 years.....its long, long overdue.

He seems to be very emotional. Maybe when he gets down on himself he's not good but when he's on, he's really on. Also, it should be noted Ed Cooley has left this game and gone to the hospital for stomach pains and an elevated heart rate.

Not good to hear I wish Coach Cooley good health and a speedy recovery.
He is a big asset to the big east and his absence would hurt Providence and the conference.

Agree it is a highly competitive conference with some good teams but can't agree with super players. Maybe it's just that college hoops is so watered down due to so many early departures.

Last years game at MSG he was jawing at Karr, didn't they go to the same post grad school? Maybe he wanted to show up the higher ranked recruit?

I know it is not Big East related but as a mod I will not start another thread , as we ask that the board not be cluttered so I will follow the rules, but it was recently asked what happened to Fred Quartelbaum. Well I just saw him sitting next to Norm Roberts on the Kansas bench as Kansas is preparing to lose to Oklahoma State.
Good for Fred Q a real class act.

I'm not sure who he could be pointing the blame on specifically. They're definitely underachieving right now.
