Around the Big East

Bouknight out again for struggling UConn in next game v Xavier. Another loss for UConn would be nice and helpful to SJU

Big East action today:

UCONN - Xavier at noon on Fox
Butler - Georgetown at 1:30 on CBSSN
Nova - Creighton at 5 on Fox
PC - Depaul at 8 pm (no TV listing)

I'm not sure why the Providence/DePaul game wasn't listed (as I noticed the same on scheduled games), but it is actually an FS1 televised game.

On the flip side, if UConn wins today and we beat Xavier on Tues, we'd be tied for fourth place.

Right now Xavier looks so good and UConn is struggling somewhat. Xavier is going to be a very tough game for us.

Plus we last beat them in 1935 :)

Especially with our spotty record of defending against the three.

Never thought about it until the announcers just said that this is the first time UCONN is facing Xavier in a regular BE game.

UConn is very well coached. Down by double digits but they slowly came back by good D, rebounding , a lot of passing. Good spacing on both O and D.
very impressed and Hurley in full control of his team and his emotions.

 Xavier is so proficient at restocking roster and integrating new players. They also play transfer game well selecting right guys to fill voids.

This guy knows his stuff;

"UConn's win at Xavier helps Seton Hall and St John's. We're not close enough to Selection Sunday to say they're all competing against each other for a bid, but both teams need UConn to be relevant (at min. remain Q1) to help enhance the look of their resumes."

Tough to deal with seeing the Hoyas giving Butler a beat down . Makes it even more painful that we blew a 16 point lead to a opponent we should have beaten this week .
