Around the Big East

It is interesting to read the UConn board a a see how complimentary they are of the team (even before last night). Some even went as far as to say our squad is really easy to root for. They wish their guards had the attack dog mentality of Posh.

It's funny after our big win I couldn't help but poke around other teams boards to see them talk about us, and I also saw how complimentary the UConn fans were of our team and coach.

also, if you look at any discussion about us on any of these other teams forums, there is one common thread on all of them: everyone thinks Posh is amazing. UConn fans specifically are a little jealous they didn't recruit him

I think Ewing is one of the best coaches in the big east.  He continues to keep that team competitive and they havre no players.

This +1000. Next year they will be young and frustrating. By year 2, they will be competitive as they learn how to win. By year 3.....watch out!

One of the best coaches in the Big East, and yet he's in year 4 and having a losing season once again. How many of us would have such patience with our own program?

Looking around the leagues boards and it seems Providence fans are pretty sour on Cooley.  Can they do much better?

Theyd be stupid to sour on Cooley.  He's a consistently good coach, and bleeds Providence colors.  I don't think they should move on from him until he's ready.  He's always got tough teams there and is passionate about the game.

Samuel with back to back corner threes for the Hall who are up 28-15 over UCONN. Still wish we would have gone after that kid.

I expect the Pirates to start moving up in the Big East stadings.  They're finished with both Creighton and Villanova, against whom they were a combined 0-4.  7-1 against everyone else.

As much as I hate giving them any benefit of the doubt...anyone else think Seton Hall is getting a little bit of a rough whistle in this one?

but will go down against us... I believed this before these last 3 games.

Looking forward to rematch with the Hall in battle for local BE supremacy.  Just hope we do a better job on Mamu.

Does Xavier ever play?
The COVID Open

Nova and Xavier combine to have one team's league games.  They continue to be rated ahead but the league needs to knock them back down.  Need to be in the grind to earn that sort of ranking.  It's annoying AF.

Good I hope nova only loses 2 big East games this year. I'll let you guys guess what I want their second one to be :)

Big East right now: Creighton and Villanova are shaky. St. John's is the league's hottest team. Georgetown is very dangerous. Marquette and Providence are cratering. Weird league right now.

Continue to be impressed w the job Ewing's done.  Weathered the storm and now hes Bringing in a stellar recruiting class. They are going to be dangerous.

I love posts like this. Ewing is now in his fourth losing season, with no tournament appearances. We had people on this board who wanted to fire CMA 10 games into his second season.

So Ewing is allowed to weather a storm for 4 years of losing (in addition to a max edodus of players he recruited during that time), and is congratulated for it because he has a strong class coming in for his 5th year.

Hoyas exposed what Nova lacks (which will sound familiar to St. John's fans)--no inside presence.  The talk of them going far in the tournamnet is, I believe, overstating Nova.  We exposed Gillespie last week and Wahab for Gtown had his way in the low post.  Also Samuels bailed Nova out today with 32 after the grand total of 2 points against us.  Maybe we ain't that bad.
