Around the Big East

I think BE Player of the Year is still pretty much up in the Air . While Zegarowski was pre season pick , I don't think he's a slam dunk .  I think it will come down to one of these Players and how they do down the stretch of the remaining season .  By the way , I watched the Marquette - Providence game . If Cooley thinks Breed is a better freshman than Posh , he's wrong .

See where Max Strus, former Depaul guard who I recall carving us up once or twice, has managed to earn a spot with the Miami Heat; averaging 15 mpg and 5 ppg in 9 games.

What is the outlook for Seton Hall moving forward? It seems like they lose a bunch of top talent after this year. They have 3 top 150 kids coming in but underwhelming recruiting the previous 2 years.

Is this their last hurrah for a bit?

The one thing I have learned over the years is not to underestimate Kevin Willards coaching abilities. He consistently gets much more out of his recruits than their prior ratings would indicate. Every year someone steps up in a major way for him and the other players accept their roles well with little or no drama. It took me a while to get on to the Willard bandwagon and it will take me a while to get off.

Agree on Willard doing more with less.

Still, It seems Jared Roden would become their main guy. Kind of like Champ for us.  Will be curious if Tyrese Samuel makes a big jump to make up for Mamuk.  I doubt Obiagu makes a jump like Gill did. I wonder if Aiken will be back if he gets a free year like everyone else. That will be big for them.
If not, I think they take step back next year unless they have interesting off-season roster change.  I dont think they'll be bottom of pack though but will rebound as team matures again over following years if Willard still is there as HC.

Kind of impossible to predict how team's will be next year until we see how the off season transfer market plays out.

Thanks guys.  There was an article saying today is a must win for them. I just started looking at their roster and see a lot of seniors on there. I'm not as close as I would normally be since I can't see any games living overseas.  I was just curious.

I agree Williams is doing a lot better than I expected. He sold himself out there for a bit with hiring the kids coaches, but it helped build something sustainable.

Gerogetown knocks off PC 73-72. Gotta hand it to Patrick. He's kept a very undermanned team somewhat competitive in BE games.

GT beats Providence by one after blowing 15 point lead. Bad karma for Cooley after his griping this week about BE freshman of week award. :)

The Xavier’s men’s basketball team was en route via bus to Indianapolis but had to turn around after 45 minutes because they forgot to wait on Jason Carter, who was in the bathroom during loading time.

Did it take Carter 45 minutes to get a hold of one of his teammates on their cell and say "Hey you forgot me."

Some poor manager is going to get a hell of a lot of grief over this one!

He's lucky he lives in the cell phone era, or he's hanging out alone on campus while his team plays.

First Geotgetown game in 3 weeks to boot.

Nova up 14 on SH & as usual have a team where everyone can handle, shoot, pass and defend. So well coached and coordinated. Putting on a clinic so far.

Not landing that man-child, Sanogo, really set them back, and the Harvard grad transfer, Aiken, has been less than expected.

Salnave has given DePaul a big lift in the first half versus Creighton.  Charlie Moore is out with an injury, while Paulicap and Weems was saddled with foul trouble.  A tied ball game at the half, 29 apiece.

The dead and buried on this board Salnave has 12 at the half.
