Hate that I share the same sentiment... Love our round-robin format with teams that we have shared History... but expansion seem inevitable... unless we get a bball only invite to one of the Power conferences...

If we could somehow separate Football from the rest of sports... which might be how things are working out... Out of respectable survival necessity... Wish list BE Basketball additions:
-Duke / UNC / Cuse / Notre Dame / BC / Pitt.... some combo of those ACC schools will make sure that the Powers that be CAN'T "snub" our conf...

Realistic additions:
-Dayton / VCU / Loyola-Chi / St Louis / St Bonna

Duquesne and Richmond are also realistic...with large markets to support them.

Everyone knows Super League here in 2-3 years. Hard to attract any football school with aspirations here because they will automatically be excluded from Super League. NCAA will cease to exist in a few years. We are being relegated to second tier status. I bet none of these power football teams will book a game with a big east team.

Potential sad reality... So what is the League's best option...? I'm thinking is convincing some of the ACC schools to join just for bball... if that can't be done... then poach the best "mid-majors" from the A10/AAC etc... and form the best bball conf possible...

We gotta hope for something to break our way, like the ACC imploding + not enough seats for all of those schools + UCONN stays. Hate to say it but I just think a lot of this is out of our control.

“Shogun” is tamer and more predictable than portal mania. Something else is there are now more employment opportunities for sleazy people who know little about hoops, but are in demand.

Take this with a grain of salt. On surface, doesn’t seem far fetched. Not sure why the other ACC powers would stick around tho if B10 came calling.

This makes sense, but agree that UNC/UVA would also be next to move (and to the SEC), as would Notre Dame. Not sure why ESPN would even want to renew the contract at that point anyway as well. The value of that conference would completely tank by then, and the Big 12 would be easily a better option for Louisville/Pittsburgh/Virginia Tech/Miami, etc.
