Around the Big East

Does anyone think we should be playing ND in OOC rather than a LIU ? Rutgers should be a choice too . Not Merrimack .
Sly, I'd love to see us play either one of those teams and would especially like to see a rotating annual home and home series with Rutgers. I lived and worked for 16 years within a 10-15 minute drive of the RAC and went to a Big East game there with a group of guys there every year. Pikiel has built a first class program and it would definitely help our OOC strength of schedule and be a nice local rivalry to develop.

They said they voted before Creighton lost to BYU.

Conference play is going to be very interesting this year. You really could argue any order for 2-8

Marquette starts four sophomores and a junior and brings 2 frosh and a soph off the bench. They are very well coached and Shaka has done a super job of developing these kids none of whom were 5 star prospects as I recall. I have that January 3rd Marquette game at home as a really big game for us, along with the game at Seton Hall on New Year's Eve. Need to get those two.

Very True , NC J. But , ND has to be on our future plans too. Maybe , even a Gonzaga at MSG or UBS . Cragg has to start putting together some better Schedule in the Seasons ahead .

Aside from creighton slipping recently, BE done well last week getting some wins and improving conference resume.

I think with Whitmore back, despite no decent PG play, Nova is not dead. After top 3, 2 bottom feeders (maybe 3) middle team battle awaits

"Paint the Touches" (whoever that is) gives the Johnnies a 11% chance of making the NCAA Tournament.

Zach loves stirring the pot and overreacting after every single game, he's been a huge Big East hater this year. He's been on twitter saying 12 wins in the BE wouldn't get St. John's in the tournament, when a team that's won that many games in conference has never missed it.

As of Saturday, Lunardi, the best at projecting the field has 5 Big East teams in... UConn, Xavier, Marquette, Creighton, and St. John's. Big East still has 9 teams top 75 in Kenpom and 6 of those are in the top 50. The isn't the best the Big East has looked, nobody is denying that, but to declare it a 3-bid league in December is just overreacting, IMO. Outside of Georgetown, everyone else's numbers aren't bad enough to completely count them out of the mix, and once conference play starts there's going to be upsets and teams getting big road wins that's going to help their NET and put them in the tournament picture.
