Around the Big East

You want a rumor?

Georgetown goes after Ed Cooley after season.
Didn't he turn down the Mich job? Why would he leave for GT, which I assume would pay a lot less?

I did not say he would say yes.

But Georgetown is still a very good job, widely considered the best job in the BE.

If Cooley makes it to the second week of the dance, at least one big program will come calling.

I hope and would think he would stay put. Providence is his hometown and although he whines, is a great asset to the Big East and to Providence College. Job security is important and all things considered is already paid well. My guess he stays.

He might feel better about his chances to win in the big East having already done it at Prov. He knows the conference and what it takes. Probably knows the built in advantages he would have at gtown. Opposed to the Big ten where we have seen guys fail after making the jump. Sean Miller and Tom Crean come to mind. Holtman being a good example of the contrary. Michigan is obviously a job good coaches can win at but gtown seems like a better fit for Cooley IMO. Plus the BE drama would be good content for the conference.

Looking forward to the PC - Nova game at 8.
Went with Nova -4.5 in 3 team parlay. Also have Duke at pick em, and Kentucky +2.

The Dunk is sold out and will host a capacity crowd of 12,400.  I predict a great atmosphere propels the Friars past Nova in a close one.   The refs will try to save Gillespie and his Wildcats, but it won't be enough tonight.

Depaul is the team no one is going to want to see in the Big East tourney.  I think they are going to make a run and knock off a team or two.  The trio of terry, freeman liberty and jones are tough covers.  Excellent coach too.

This jones kid has 1st team big east potential.

After being picked 4th in the preseason poll.  An absolute disaster of a season.
