Around the Big East 19/20

Burks, St Ann’s/Molloy HS player was an actor too for a while. Nifty player

I thought his brother Greg was one of the leads in "Chorus Line" or was that him. The "Gimme the ball" dance.
Agree with that - Boo Harvey and Erick Barkley were the last great St. John's PGs (and two great NYC products). Both true floor generals, who could get to the rim at will but were pass-first PGs who made their teammates better.

(Hatten was terrific, one of the best Johnnies ever, but definitely more of a combo than a true PG.)

Hopefully Posh is the next in this long and illustrious line of great NYC PGs that starred for the Johnnies.
Omar Cook? Averaged 8.7 assists his Freshman year which is unheard of
Providence at home over M’Q 43-29 at the half
Cheap shot time, as Marquette decides to see if Howard can win the game playing 1 on 5. Taken 14 of of the teams 24 shots (made 4) as Marquettes offense is totally just get the ball to Howard who has been pretty effectively face guarded by Providence. Meanwhile Diallo has played within himself and hasn’t scored, hasn’t had to. Providence with 11 assists / 17 field goals, Marquette 2 / 9.
Not denying at all Howard is a great player and could explode for 40 in the 2nd half and win the game virtually by himself but in no way does that approach maximize team success IMO.

No doubt Cook had his 1 great year but, Barkley , Harvey , Hatten had 2 year careers here . Plus ,I think that trio just had more impact than Cook did . Just a opinion . The fact remains we haven’t had a great PG in a very long time .

Marquette 4 assists / 18 turnovers. Howard 25 of 49 shots. No one else had more than 6.

Cooley doing it yet again.

Wow-some teams take 49 shots in total. I thought that was the virginia approach. Not very high on efficiency calculation.

I'm starting to see Jack's hate of Xavier. Read somewhere that Naji on monday told a fan in the student section to "suck my d*" they are becoming a team/school easy to hate.

I'm quoting someone else so hope that's ok to put, if not then I apologize.

Sorry, I misled; Howard took 25 of the teams 49 shots, my bad.

Honeslty, I forgot about Omar - one of the most highly rated recruits Jarvis ever had. A one-year wonder who played on a disappointing team. Great passer, excellent getting to the hoop, couldn't shoot. Both he and the Johnnies would have been much better off if he stayed another year.

I agree with Borzello

“ Creighton just beat Butler by 22 — and the final margin is being kind to the Bulldogs. Creighton led by 30-plus for much of the second half. Bluejays playing as well as anyone in America right now.”

They've had a goid year, but I haven't likes what I've seen from them for about a month nis.

They'll turn it around on 3/4.

Wish we had a guy like Ziggy to team with Figgy.
